Initially we parked,, paid and visited a small beach area with just a few penguins. We were a little disappointed. Then we checked the small map we had been given when paying and realise you have to go back out and walk along a path for a few minutes to another entrance where there is a shop and long boardwalk from which you can see lots of penguins.
If you are in the area this is worth doing. I would recommend Stony Point Penguin Colony near Betty's Bay instead (or as well as) Boulder's Beach. Stony Point was much cheaper and there were just as many penguins, but we preferred it there.

Not what I expected to see, I was amazed how many adorable little African Penguins were around, they were everywhere, on the rocks and all over the beach area. Excellent how you walk on a boardwalk to see the little fellows, and the information on the Penguins along the various parts of the boardwalk was very enlightening.

We got some great pictures sitting between the penguins on the rocks at the penguin viewing area.

The penguins are really tame and didn't even move when we walked between them and sat next to them to take pictures. Well worth a visit and it costs nothing.
