“Cape Point Lighthouse, Restaurant and park areas”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

This a spectacularly beautiful area of South Africa and a must see, if you have never been there. The views are wonderful in all directions. There is a tram to the lighthouse area for those who prefer not to walk up. There are several gift shops. The food at the restaurant is excellent, and dining can be enjoyed either outside or inside depending on the weather and your own personal preference. I would allow at least 2-3 hours for this adventure, and more, if you want to explore more of the area on foot. This area is truly lovely day trip from Cape Town and surrounding areas.

“Dramatic views of where Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Cape Point is part of the Table Mountain National Park south of Cape Town, near Simon's Town, east of the Cape of Good Hope. It has dramatic scenery, cliffs, coves, crashing waves. There is an old lighthouse at the top, which can be reached by means of the Flying Dutchman funicular car with a fee of 49 Rand or $5.50 US or by a trail up to the top. There is also a restaurant and gift shop. It is a worthwhile sight to see where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

“Cape point”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Cape point was great. The drive was really pretty and we saw a couple of animals along the way. The view at the top where the lighthouse is was phenomenal and the walk was short and pretty easy. Many places to take beautiful pictures and the history is quite amazing too.

“Where the 2 oceans meet.”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

No visit to Cape Town is complete without a visit to Cape Point. Take a funicular ride toward the highest point or simply take the steep short walk to the top & venture to the old light house. The views are breathtaking, with many vantage points along the walking path. Take a few moments to imbibe the sights, sounds & scents of this natural unspoiled Eden.
