“A truly magnificent place to stay”
Reviewed February 15, 2011

This was our first experience of a South African B&B – and I have to say it was a very pleasant one. Our host, Amanda, was really great, providing a really warm welcome and helpful advice.

The room was excellent; it was clean and furnished and decorated to a high standard with a really comfy bed. Importantly for us, it was set in a quiet location - no traffic noise or anything. It had everything you could possibly want. There was even a mini extension to the room which offered a small sitting area to enjoy a drink while admiring the splendid sea facing view.

The breakfast was immaculate – felt strange eating it outside, but it was great.

Complimentary WiFi was also a great bonus.

There is one restaurant within easy walking distance – Dixie’s, a steak house. It was fine.

All in all, a truly excellent B&B. I cannot think of one negative comment. Amanda worked really hard to ensure our stay was a comfortable one, and it most certainly was – a real home from home. No hesitation in recommending the Simon’s Town Guest House – we would definitely stay there again.

Amanda has worked really hard to get this new guest house up and running. She was so attentive in replying to my many emails before we arrived that I felt I knew her already once we did meet. Each room is beautifully appointed and decorated. The views are outstanding. Breakfast was very good and it was so nice to eat outdoors. The aptly named 'Wonderful' looked after us very well.Wish we had been able to stay longer - will definitely return.Great place from which to explore the Cape and many good restaurants which Amanda can help advise on

The service at Amanda's Simonstown Guesthouse was immaculate, she welcomed my family and I with warm hands....the daily breakfast was more than amazing...she even went an extra mile by surprising us with Champagne breakfast on the 01/1/11....the bed was the most comfortable bed I had ever slept on....let’s not even mention the size "King size+)....very well managed and close to all amnesties...the fact that I could wake up and have the ocean view every morning was spectacular...air-conditioned rooms with free internet service for all guests was more than I could have ever asked for...Amanda you made our Cape Town experience exceptional....needless to say we will be back...keep smiling sunshine :)

We stayed here for two nights and really wished we had stayed on for the rest of our trip. Everything was absolutely FANTASTIC. Amanda is an excellent host. She was really welcoming and very helpful, with great tips on things to do and sights / attractions to visit.

The rooms and views were great, and so was the breakfast. The guesthouse/b&b is ideally located for all attractions in/around that area (5 mins drive to the boulder's beach penguin colony, ~15 mins drive to cape point, ~10-12 mins drive to imhoff farm etc).

In all, once again, an excellent place to stay. Highly, highly recommended!!

Thanks again Amanda for making our trip so enjoyable.

We went to the Simonstown Guest house for only one night while touring around the Cape town area.
It was easy to find with the directions we had been given, albeit a very steep drive there is no getting round that where ever you may stay.
The guesthouse itself was immaculate purpose built to a very high standard.
Amanda the owner was very welcoming, full of local information, who even got up very early for us the next morning to give us a sumptuous breakfast.
My only regret is that we could not stay longer should i be lucky enough to go back to South Africa would return and spend more time there.
