We had a great time in Simonstown Guest House. After 10 days of camping in Botswana, we came in heaven. We arrived almost at night, Amanda was there to welcome us, and to accompany us to our great room with a fantastic sea view directly from your bed (we saw in the morning...). The room was like the guesthouse, stylish and clean and had a richly filled mini bar, with normal prices (every day chocolate peanuts, mmmmm) . Beautiful pictures of wildlife, Amanda made them herself, gave the hotel and rooms an extra dimension. Amanda had already arranged for us a Shark and a whale tour, and arranged for us a second shark tour. She is very helpful.
The breakfast had a varied offer and was delicious. The guesthouse is close to a nice restaurant/bar, when you don't want to go to the city to of Simonstown.
When there is a 'next time', we know where to go.

Room Tip: Al the rooms are very nice. We had the suite, which has a big bath for two persons. Very romantic wi...

It was such a pleasure meeting you both and hearing about your wonderful wildlife encounters around the world. I felt like we already knew each other before you arrived due to our months of emails to organise your airport shuttle, shark cage diving trips and whale watching trips. You had such incredible and unique encounters on these trips which was wonderful to hear.

Thank you for taking the time to put your experiences here at our Guest House in your own words. It really means alot to us and makes us want to continue in strive for excellence and provide the best customer service possible.

Perhaps some day we will see you again :)

All the very best,
Amanda

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 5 month old daughter in August and we loved it. It was a perfect place to recover from our long flight and to get introduced to South Africa. Amanda was really helpful in giving us tips on where to go and what to see. The rooms are very well finished and clean and I have to mention that this was one of the only places we were warm (it was freezing that week and not all B&Bs have proper heaters). Overall it's a great place, you can't go wrong with this one.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor and it was a very good room. There are no connecting walls with the othe...

Thank you for taking the time to review our Guest House. As you know we don't normally take babies but as you mentioned the Ground Floor Room was perfect for this as it is the only room on the ground floor and you don't have to worry if your baby cries or other guests walking your baby up.

We say on our website this room has lesser sea views as it does compared to the first floor rooms which are higher up but they are still excellent as you mentioned - even allowing you to watch the whales in the bay.

The high quality Reverse cycle air-conditioning units are brilliant for both hot and cold conditions as you can change the temperature accordingly. We find our rooms retain heat well though in Winter even without using the Air-Conditioning/heating.

Thank you once again for such a wonderful review. It was a pleasure meeting the 3 of you and we hope to see you again some day for that Shark Dive you so wanted to do.

Although we are from Cape Town, we just needed to get away, and we were absolutely bowled out by the stunning scenery and luxury on offer. We could not have asked for more. The breaking sunrise that lurked over the Hottentotsholland Mountains for a couple of hours was exquisite. The assortment in the minibar is well planned for any eventuality. The modern lay out and stylish furniture and bathroom rounded off a great experience.

It was a pleasure being able to offer you the relaxing getaway you were looking for. The sunrise over the mountains into False Bay is something really special, especially when the whales are in the bay at this time of year too.

We hope to welcome you back here soon.

All the very best,
Amanda

My wife and I stayed for a night at this guesthouse that was perched on a cliff and with our room having an amazing view of the ocean. Our room was immaculately clean and had a modern design. It was also just a 5 min drive to the harbor.
Amanda was a very benevolent hostess and as we had to leave early the following day, she also made us a packed breakfast which was very kind of her.
Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Maureen & Lawrence

We used the reviews on tripadvisor to sway us into staying here, and it didn't disappoint. The property is modern, spotless and still cosy and homely. Amanda is great, very natural, friendly and helpful. She even popped a note under our door when a whale was passing by. Breakfast was top notch too - all in all highly highly recommended

Room Tip: We had room 3 - great room with brilliant view and lots of space.

Another fantastic review! Thanks Steve and Laura. It was so great meeting you both and sharing our travel and photography stories.

We know how guests love to see the whales from the bedroom window so I always run around putting notes under doors in case the guest is awake to see them.

You guys belong in Africa so no doubt we will see you some day again :)

We stayed 3 days and really enjoyed the beautiful room with a view on the bay; the room was very clean - modern design and decorated with taste. There is a salon with a computer, if you need it.
The service was excellent. Amanda and her staff are charming and go out of their way to accommodate our wishes. It is a convenient location if you want to travel to Cape Point and enjoy the natural reservatin park for a day.
We would go back without hesitation
