Maybe I'm a spoiled American, but fish and chips shouldn't include bones in the fillets, that were soggy and nothing is worse than soggy fries. Service was ok, the view is really nice.

This restaurant is situated in the harbour at Simonstown. It is a delightful place with vey friendly staff. You sit on the harbour's edge and feel the atmosphere of a busy place.
The menu is varied with plenty of fish, some meat and veggie meals available. The wines are great!! I had a red merlot which was superb. The prices are great, not expensive at all.
The food is cooked to perfection and was a pleasure to eat. I could eat more as it was so good.
If you are in the area it is worth sitting there, eat and drink and laze away the day!

Bertha's is in an amazing spot in the Simon's Town harbour - absolutely perfect for a cold beer on sunny day.

Stay with the drinks as the food is some of the worst on offer in the Cape Region which in general offers amazing value for Money.

We had a mussels, which were generally tasteless and had a very strange flaky texture - stomach hedl up though. The white wine cream sauce was clearly not freshly made and very thick.

The beef burger was a disaster, as the meat was of a similar type to those of a large US hamburger chain. Very artificial taste in practiallt unedible.

The restaurant is huge, but basically empty for lunch - strange feeling but understandable!

Enjoy the views and drinks here, but eat elsewhere

This restuarant is in a beautiful spot. we went there for the breakfast and were so disspointed the service is shocking the food was dissapointing; the eggs we burnt and the plate looked like it was placed on barbeque stand! We complained and they still made excuses that they are under pressure when we were the only people in the restuarant; now it explains why it was so empty! Will never set foot at Bertha's in Simontown.
