I am so sorry to make this review. Why? Because I can't find anything bad to say about this great guesthouse in Simons Town. And good reviews gives lots of customers and could end up being hard to book! Next time I would like to stay at MY guesthouse, so please do not overbook this place ;) Denise and Dirk are fantastic hosts, helpfull, have a great sense of humour(very important!) and have made their guesthouse cosy. Now let the stars talk for the rest...

I have stayed at Cheriton on 3 occasions and cannot find fault. Denise and Dirk are personable and approachable and without effort create a homely atmosphere. It is the perfect place to stay if you are attending the navy or SAMTRA but also for a holiday or weekend. There is a lot going on in and around this little town but for access to Cape Point it is ideal. I loved the honesty bar, the rooms are fantastic with a ship theme and decor. The beds are superb, rooms are all different but with a constant level of excellence. The breakfast is fantastic and really sets you up for the busy day ahead. If I had any complaint it would be lack of AC for the VERY occasional warm night. To sum up, there is no reason for me to consider any other guesthouse and I won't, Cheriton is my home from home. Thanks Denise and Dirk, see you again....Warm Regards, Rodger from Dubai

I took my mom for a short break-away from home and the Cheriton Guest House B&B was the best discovery I've made! Our garden cottage with its private entrance was very charming and we loved the naval theme throughout the entire place. The garden with all its interesting curios and beautiful array of birds was charming and very tranquil. They employ friendly, helpful and polite staff. Breakfast was a scrumptious feast and sure kept us going throughout the day! A charming, clean & homely place with a personal touch and where we will most certainly stay again. Highly recommendable.

Room Tip: The Transvaal was ideal since it is privately situated and unattached from the main house.

Dirk and Denise made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to accomodate all our needs. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming too. The location is easy and practical for all the sights and restaurants in the area.
Definitely recommended.

The Cheriton is run by Dirk and Denise who are fantastically welcoming hosts. Good accommodation, with everything that you need and amazing amounts of storage. We stayed in the family room, which was a great set up and perfect for us Tips: hire a car (we didn't); not suitable for those unable to cope with very steep hills; there are "free" penguins on Seaforth beach, which is lovely and just at the bottom of the road; the Seaforth restaurant by the beach does take away which is very handy for supper when you have a young child who wants to crash out. Downsides: the pool is not heated - we did know this before we went, but it was even colder than we expected!
Be aware that Denise and DIrk have 2 pet dogs that are free to wander in the morning, this was absolutely fine for us (and they are gorgeous!) but one to be aware of if you are allergic, as not mentioned on the website.

We had a great time at Cheriton’s, Dirk and Denise are lovely people. They are always in for a laugh or a good conversation and they make you feel like you are at home. The rooms are very nice and if you are a Navy lover, this is the place to go! We also appreciated the bottle of sherry in the room, although we didn’t have much time to drink it, it’s a great gesture. The garden is nice with a lot of birds, you can have breakfast outside with a great view of False Bay. What can I say more, it is just a great place!

It is an amazing place to stay! We stay in Standard twin in the garden one night! We were very pleased to see so much and wonderful decoration items around every corner of every rooms including the ceiling also! We like the garden; the pub room, dining room, balcony and all rooms. And we enjoyed the breakfast very much also! Dirk and Denise were SO friendly. I will recommend Cheriton Guest House B&B to my friends to stay if they have Cape Town trip. Thank you Dirk and Denise!

It is not often that we have guests from the East so when we do it is a big bonus that they enjoy our guest house. Thank you for the nice remarks.
