We went in May, so there was no penguin walk exhibition and it was a cold drizzly day. Was going to cancel, but really glad we went. I enjoyed seeing flamingoes for the first time, and so many types of penguins, and the hippopotamus. Was also lucky enough to see the penguin feeding at about 10:30am (can get very close up), and the hippo feeding at 12:30pm. What is really well done, and not something I've seen to this extent before in other zoos, is that as you progress in the enclosures, you get different underwater views of the penguins and hippo. Penguins are plain cute whichever way, but I found out that hippos are cute too. They are so big/fat, yet seem graceful in the water and one repeatedly did these slow motion 360 spin underwater that is just funny to see. One thing that detracted from our viewing pleasure is that many of the glass windows were really scratched up. The zoo is not too large...could be enjoyed in about 3 hr at a leisurely pace. Worth coming even if it's raining slightly.
