A group of five men didn't find much in Wroxham in March until we came upon this gem. From the outside we wondered, but then the welcome and the care and attention given was great.
They take a pride in their menu and enthuse about each dish. Probably the best indian meal I've tasted, and I come from Birmingham!

While visiting the broads, we were after a Indian to satisfy our cravings. It's seems Norfolk doesn't really cater for this but Wroxham had our answer. The Star of India has great food, and amazing service. You get the feeling of a home grown business. Would certainly recommend and prices are very reasonable.

Three of us on a fishing weekend went to the Star of India in Wroxham (Hoveton) on Sunday evening. The Norfolk Broads area on a Sunday evening in March does not offer a lot of choice of places to eat it seems. Running out of options, we trooped into The Star, and wondered if we’d be better off eating nothing: it doesn't look very inviting. However, we sat down, and were very pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent. We had a tandoori mixed grill, a chicken jalfrezi and a king prawn madras, along with a variety of other things. The food was a little hotter (spice-wise) than normal (which was fine my me), and the quantity was perfect: no mounds of wasted food, and no one went away hungry!
The proprietor who served us was very genial, and he told us the restaurant has been open 21 years, and kept the same chef throughout that time. That may explain why the meal was so good.
If you’re in the Wroxham area and you like Indian food, you should visit the Star.
