I arrived in Wadi Musa with Mr. Saleh, a cab driver who is close friends with the owner of Fig Tree Villa. Coincidence on my side, but I would argue the cheap and friendly cab driver is a perk you can easily add should you decide to stay at the Villa (E.g you can arrange with Jolande, the Villa's host, to have Mr. Saleh pick you up at the airport / Aqaba border).
Jolande, is a friendly lady from The Netherlands. She is very welcoming and accommodating to her guests - she got up for me at 0500 to make breakfast as I wanted to go to Petra early! The Villa itself is very comfortable with decent facilities (shower etc.), a good bed and a lovely kitchen with herbs and vegetables grown by Jolande in her garden. Also note worthy is the location of the Villa: on top of a hill, with a 5 min walk to Petra's gate, in periphery of Wadi Musa - this unique combination allows for brilliant views over the city at night, or dawn with the sun peeking over Aron's tomb (picture).
All in all I am confident my stay at the Villa allowed me to get the most out of my stay in Wadi Musa / Petra, and I'd recommend anyone to include Fig Tree in their visit!More
