“Perfect location, nice hotel”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

This hotel was beyond our expectations. The location was perfect for the entry to Petra, just a 2 minute walk to the entrance gate. Staff were good and professional, and the room was a good size and very clean. Bed was very comfortable! Staff can arrange a driver for you to/from Amman/Amman Airport if required at an ok price.

This hotel provided just the right degree of luxury after days of marching around Petra in the heat of May. Rooms were of a high standard and the buffet style breakfast was quite good without being exceptional. The location is perfect; close to the entrance of Petra and convenient for several good restaurants in town. Whilst the hotel seemed quite busy, regional events have had a severe impact on the numbers visiting the superb ruins, which seemed relatively deserted at times. I would urge you to visit one of the great archeological sites of the world........and stay in this hotel in the process !

We chose Petra Moon based on recommendations here on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. As we were spending 3 nights with 2 days visiting Petra it was convenient to be able to walk down to the ticket office in 5 mins. The staff were very friendly with always a cheery smile and hello. The rooms were tidy & clean. Breakfast was plentiful but would have liked to see more variation.

A very smart hotel for the price. I continually thought that the management had mistaken me for a VIP – they were very attentive and polite, without being intrusive or over the top. The breakfast (included) is generous and varied. A rooftop barbecue at night is idyllic and very good value at $18 US. The hotel is a minute's walk from the entrance to Petra. The bedroom was huge for the price (about $140 US). There's free Wi-Fi in the lobby. The Movenpick next door charges a lot more for rooms.

This place was spotless and had all the amenities, but next time I'd stay at one of the many places that are less expensive and friendlier. As nice as Petra Moon was, it felt stuffy, which just doesn't appeal to me no matter how nice a place is. I think paying a taxi to get from a cheaper friendlier place to the entrance to Petra is the way I'd go. I stayed 2 nights solo and celebrated my 70th birthday. Most of the after-Petra-activity is located in the town rather than down by the Petra entrance.

This is a really good hotel and I can't recommend it enough. Other than the Movenpick its the closest hotel and you literally walk down the road (about 30 metres) and you're at the ticket office to Petra.

The hotel room we stayed in was very lovely; comfortable and more like 4 or 5 star decor and furnishings. The staff on the reception area (which doesn't look as swish as the rooms strangely) were helpful and friendly, as were restaurant staff.

There is a rooftop restaurant and bar which doesn't sell alcohol but is really very good and an excellent place to watch the sunset. The hotel is just up the road from the cave bar if you do want a nice cold beer. This is a bar literally in a cave and is good fun, although not cheap.

Its a lovely hotel, well located and I'd go back here again in a flash.

Clean, well maintained rooms. Good beds and anything else one can wish for in a hotel during a stay. We have experienced 5+ star service from the hotel staff during our stay. Unfortunatly my wife had to visit a hospital during our stay. Ra'ed from the hotel staff drove us to the hospital and helped us with finding the right doctor. After the received the medical attention my wife needed, we had to fly home earlier then planned due to required medical assistance. On arranging the needed documentation from the local hospital, Ra'ed helped us out once again.

Thanks to the service we received we will come back next year to continue the trip that unfortunatly got interrupted.

Once more our thanks to the hotel staff and special thanks to Ra'ed for his helpfullness, hospitality and guidance that helped us through this period!
