Was in Petra for a day and a half and wanted to stay right next to the entrance. Found Petra Moon on Trip Advisor and could not have been happier with the choice. Was greated when we arrived and was checked right in, did not even need to give them our credit card as they said they will get it when we check out. Rooms were excately as pictured and one of our rooms was also upgraded. Very comfortable beds and very clean.

Only down side.... was the restaurant. Food was really terrible and I hated saying something because the 3 brothers who own the hotel are so nice and welcoming. If I went back to Petra I would absolutely stay there again and if the restaurant had not changed I would just eat else where. The hotel was well worth savings over the Movenpick right next door and the fact that it is family owned I really liked. I would definitly give these guys my money instead of a large chain that really cares nothing about the guests.
Don't think twice staying at this lovely hotel

Room Tip: All rooms are great

I used to stay in the old Petra Moon Hotel many years ago and on an impromptu trip to Jordan decided to visit Petra again and stay at the same hotel. I had not booked in advance and so was very surprised to see the brand new Petra Moon.

The room on the 3rd floor was excellent, definitely worth the price charged; the service from the staff was top-notch, and the free wifi worked well. The only down comment I can make was the on one of the mornings the breakfast seemed a bit haphazard in the availablity of the hot buffet items, and crockery.

However that does not detract from this friendly and comnfortable hotel which I would definitely recomend.

This is a pretty average hotel, but the service is good and the rooms are clean. The breakfast is subpar - the hot food is unedible while the typical Jordanian food is just so so. The lighting in the rooms is entirely flourescent, which really takes away from the mood. But, you're probably not visiting Petra for the hotel, but rather the ruins. The site is as close as it gets (well perhaps the Moevenpick is a few meters closer) - this is great if you want to get an early start on the ruins.

The hotel is located just 200m from the main entrance to Petra making it very convenient for visiting the site. And the place has obviously undergone a refit - although to very low spec. The fittings are already looking tired (our shower started leaking after one night) and the breakfast is worth missing. Overall an over-priced option for Petra.

We booked the hotel knowing it had been recently rebuilt and weren't disappointed with the room or service. The location Petra was super for visiting the city. We had a large, comfortable second floor room, although the bathroom was quite small for the size of the room. We have no complaints and think our choice to stay here was a good one.
