Went on an organized tour and had no choice of hotels. Rooms were clean but rusty bath, no hot water (this was after a grueling day in Petra!), and mediocre supper.
Breakfast was good, though.
"Free" Internet didn't work in the room most of the time.

Room Tip: Away from the mosque. Prayers are about an hour before sunrise.

We simply loved this hotel! It's not straight at the entrance of the old town of Petra, but since we were travelling with our own car, that was not a problem at all. The bedroom (family room) was good, not overly luxurious but good. Both breakfast and dinner are good with a lot of healthy choices. What made our stay unforgettable, is the great staff. They were al extremely nice to our children, played soccer with them, talked with them, made them laugh. Service was really good. When we return to Petra, we will absolutely stay in this hotel again.

We stayed here for 2 nights and would recommend it. The staff were all very helpful and friendly (reception, bellboy, restaurant) and really made our stay pleasant. Rooms were fine - clean and comfortable (although the hotel is close to a mosque so we were woken by the morning call to prayer at 04:30 every morning). Pretty gardens. Didn't use the pool (it was indoors and didn't look super clean). Lovely rooftop terrace for drinks & food. Breakfast very nice and plentiful. Location was a little way from Petra and the tourist centre of town. Took about 15 minutes to walk through local neighbourhood (perfectly safe) and down the hill. About 20 minutes to walk up the steep hill. Free shuttle bus to and from Petra 3 times a day. Taxi was 4JOD - we weren;t able to haggle below this! Would definitley recommend as long as you don't mind being a little out of the main street

Room Tip: Maybe one away from the Mosque if that's possible

Stayed at this hotel for three nights. The hotel caters to a lot of tour groups and is uphill from Petra. Staff friendly and helpful and can arrange either taxi (2JD one way) or free shuttle bus (morning at 7am, 8 am or 9am and return 4pm, 5 pm and 6pm) to Petra. The hotel also sell Petra by Night tickets and provide shuttle bus at 2JD per person. We ate breakfast (included in price) and dinner at the hotel. Food was average but could not fault the service.
There is a pool and spa but we did not use either.

Stayed at this hotel in April 2014. Chose the hotel as part of a tour. The staff were friendly and provided good service. The hotel is a bit dated and the bathrooms are small. There is little space to stand between the toilet and the face basin. We booked a deluxe room and the bed was comfortable and large. The hotel does not turn on air-conditioning until the summer months. I was unaware of this and turned on the air-conditioning which blew hot air all night.

The hotel had free Wifi which did was not working on the first day we checked in but started working after that. The hotel also provides a free breakfast buffet that was good. There is a choice of omelets, cereal, pancakes, yogurt and a variety of cheese and bread.

The hotel provides a good dinner buffet which is an additional charge but there are a couple good restaurant/cafe nearby that you can get authentic food at a reasonable price. The hotel is within 5 minutes drive from Petra.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor which is quiet.

Amra palace provided an excellent stay at Wadi Musa, as a base to tour Petra.

The hotel location is not adjacent to Petra, but getting to Petra is very easy - you can use the hotel shuttle or pay 4 JD (I am told it can be haggled to a lower price).

The hotel stands out for hospitality - we are a family of five with three children ages 16, 14 and 8 (at the time of stay) - we got two rooms at the end of the corridor, facing each other, in effect creating a suite for us, which was very considerate of the hotel personnel. We called for some additional equipment a few times and each time someone appeared within 2-3 minutes!

The pool and jacuzzi were just what is needed at the end of a long day hiking (17 kilometers on foot at Petra). Breakfast buffet was excellent, dinner buffet is OK.

WiFi was down during our stay due to a problem with the provider, seemed to be back up as we were leaving. There was free WiFi at the lobby - so that was a reasonable temporary solution.

Definitely recommend and would stay again.

Room Tip: If travelling as a family, ie needing more than one room, ask for the end of the corridors with faci...

Comfortable and nice room. Great service and friendly+helpful staffs. The breakfast buffet was also good. Although the hotel is located about 20min walking from Petra enterance, they offer free shuttle bust to/from Petra. However, the luch box was so-so, and a little be overpriced.
