Edom Hotel Petra
Ranked #33 of 41 Hotels in Petra - Wadi Musa

You really can't get much closer to the Petra entrance. There are other hotels about half a block closer. Doesn't make any difference.
We stayed three nights. The rooms are very basic: firm bed, not much of a view, small TV (but we never turned it on anyway, clean bathroom. The wifi is only available in the lobby but is free. It was occasionally very slow but generally suitable.
There are plenty of restaurants with good Jordanian food nearby and western food too if you need it.

Room Tip: The elevator is very small and slow. Try for a lower floor.

The Edom Hotel in Wadi Musa is located only about 3 minutes walking distance from the entrance to Petra so it is a perfect location to visit this incredible site. We stayed here for two nights and felt very welcome. Our room was large and we had a little balcony. Unfortunately we had a problem with our air condition, the air from it was smelling. As it wasn’t really hot outside we could open the window for fresh air so it didn’t matter if there hadn’t been a noisy disco on the other side of the street (but it was a kind of funny to hear Scooter in Jordan ;-) ).
The Edom offers a very good breakfast with fresh prepared omelettes. And if you want to visit Petra when it opens the Edom prepares a lunch paket for you. But I suggest to order it the evening before to not waste time in the morning.

We stayed two nights at the Edom Hotel. The hotel is only a 3 minutes walk away from the entrance of Petra. The rooms are okay. We had a little balcony. The air condition did not work that good and smelled a little bit. Breakfast was very good and they prepare a lunch box if you want to get up early. There is a turkish bath, but we did not use it.

This hotel is no frills, but comfortable, great service (e.g., free laundry), good location, and really makes you feel like you're in a Jordanian hotel, not one of the several Marriotts dotting the town. And whatever juice it is that they give you when you enter is delicious!

My experiences almost exactly reflect those in the review below although the room was not in any way dirty.
The good: The location of this hotel is fantastic, 2 minute walk from the entrance to Petra and as you do so much walking in Petra, you really don't want to be doing any more! As mentioned, the room was clean and was a reasonable size with everything you'd need. The reception area was bright and clean. Staff were all extremely polite and helpful.
The bad: The aircon didn't work and just blew hot air around. Beds were incredibly hard. The hotel was pretty much empty which made for a slightly uncomfortable experience at breakfast. Variety at breakfast wasn't great and as mentioned previously, the toaster was very temperamental! Omelletes however were made to order and were really good.
We booked this hotel because of the low price and it was ok for a couple of nights but sleep quality wasn't good and any longer than this would have been too much. Perhaps during the main season in Petra (earlier in the year), the experience would have been better.

Traveled to Jordan for the first time, booked Hotel Edom for three nights because of the price and ranking on Tripadvisor (ranked no 10, however should be ranked much lower!!)

Wasn't looking for a luxury hotel, have stayed in many basic hotels in the past but this one was terrible. The lobby area and corridors looks nice and clean on arrival, however, the rooms are disgusting. Dirty carpet (you cannot walk barefoot in the room!), dirty walls, poor lighting, no hot water, hard bed, but worst of all the AC and fan blew out warm air which meant a long, hot, sticky uncomfortable night.

Thought we'd give it a chance and see what the breakfast was like - went down at 8.30am for breakfast, however no other guests around! There were a few slices of bread - attempted to use the toaster which didn't work, the waiter then had to come and fix the plug with a screwdriver (?when was the last time someone had toast here???) In the end we packed up and checked into Petra Moon, obviously more expensive but worth it after exploring the city in the heat.

The only plus side of the hotel is that it is about 5min walk from the Heritage Site and the staff were helpful with baggage, also no fuss when we asked for a refund for the two nights that we didn't stay,
