“Excellent value for your money!”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

This hotel was better than I expected. The room was beautiful and clean, with a comfortable bed and a comfortable reclining armchair (perfect after walkin for several km in Petra) and an amazing view. It even has a bidet. The staff is always kind, smiling and professional, despite the fact that their boss is always breathing down their neck in a unnerving way. The breakfast is very good and the cook prepares in front of you scrambled eggs with vegetables of your choice.

However, forget the restaurant: it has a "light buffet", which consists of some cold appetizers and one main course, that is prepared before the beginning of dinner hour (6.30 pm) and kept there under an alluminum foil for 4 hours, until the end of dinner. I am not a fan of restaurants serving food prepared hours before, so we asked if they had anything else. They said that they had an a-la-carte menu, which was hamburger, mixed grill or a couple of other international dishes. Too bad, because I am sure that the chef could prepare good local dishes (the breakfast is very good), but we found out that international kitchen is not his forte. I understand that in low season they cannot afford to offer too many different dishes, but they could prepare a light buffet with the cold appetizers and than prepare the main course on request. Even a single choice of main course would be ok, if prepared on the spot! Until they change the buffet organization, I strongly suggest a restaurant near the center (the roundabout), such as al-arabi restaurant which surely is much less fancy or luxurious, but serves very good food at the same price (we paid 20JD for 2 people).

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have a very beautiful view on the mountain and the village of wadi musa

It's a very beautiful hotel for a very good price. The rooms are nice and clean with beautiful decor and very big, the bed was so comfortable.
Views are amazing and you can enjoy the sunset from the comfort of your bed.
The food at the restaurant was just delicious.
The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Is just 5 min by taxi to Petra.
Highly recommended if you're traveling alone or with the family.
I will love to comeback soon.

The good:
- EXCELLENT service. Really. Amazing niceness and willingness to help. We got breakfast on arrival although it was way past breakfast time. We got help with taxis to Wadi Rum. When our daughter lost her small bag somewhere in the hotel, half of the staff tried to find it :)
- BIG, comfortable, nicely designed rooms. We stayed in a family room, in theory for 5 people, but could well sleep a platoon. And as the hotel is quite new, everything looks very well.
- SUPERB wifi.

The not so good:
- The hotel is QUITE FAR AWAY from Petra. It is either a rather long walk (20-30 min down, more on the way back) or an 5-10 min taxi drive (2 dinars down, 3 dinars up). Maybe not much, but it all adds up - especially when you take into account that you need to walk further 20 min from the Petra entrance to the Siq. There are some hotels located just near the entrance to Petra, and those would be better i.e. for sunrise trips - but of course usually they are more expensive.
- Tetra Tree advertises its swimming pool on Booking.com. Unfortunately when we came, it was closed (winter, reconstruction, whatever). We chose the hotel partly because of the pool and the kids were disappointed.

Overall: recommended if you care about quality of stay, design and service. If location is the key priority - find something closer to the entrance.

New hotel with good quality modern decor. It was clean, the bed was a great quality and the bathrooms were good. We had a lovely view from our room and the staff were very professional. Negatives, there was no hot water one night, and the location is a taxi drive from the Petra ruins or a 15 min walk along a very steep & heavily trafficked road. The breakfast spread was generous but some of the hot food was luke warm at best. But, overall a good hotel and we would be happy to stay their again.

We highly recommend the Tetra Tree hotel: it s new and tastefully decorated with an unbeatable view over new Petra. The friendly and welcoming staff will do their upmost to tailor to the guests needs. The rooms are fitted with very comfortable beds and lounge chairs. Altogether, this is an excellent value hotel and great base for exploring Petra.

me and a friend stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. we got a nice room with a perfect view of the city below, Petra and the mountains. the room was new, clean and very nicely decorated with a flat screen tv, tv sofa and ac, the beds where super comfy. the staff and reception personnel where nice and helpful with all of our questions, they all spoke good english so there where no communication problems. the location is great, on top of the mountain overlooking the valley and the city below, in just a 5 min walk from the center where all the restaurants and stores are, and only a 15 min walk from the entrance to Petra. we paid 30 jd per night for room, very good value for the money you pay.
the only thing that i would suggest improving was the continental breakfast, the selection of bread, dip and cheeses was very good but there where no fruits or vegetables, something that i personally need.
overall we had a great time there, and would definitely recommend anyone whom is visiting Petra to stay there.

Room Tip: ask for one with the valley view! even if they charge extra for it, it is totally worth it!
