Great food! Well spiced meat skewers grilled right on the street. Fresh veggies. Friendly service. Simple and delicious!

We came upon this place while exploring Wadi Musa shortly after arrival. Staff speaks limited English but shared menu and were friendly and welcoming. We were the only non locals eating that night but enjoyed the Jordanian specialties. This is an open air place and is not fancy at all. We had to wait a short time for a table which I consider a good sign. Our son lives in Amman, speaks Arabic and is familiar with the food so ordering was a snap. Everything was good, portions were generous and price was easy on the wallet. They do not take credit cards nor do they serve alcohol but this was the norm for our visit to Petra. An easy walk from the Al Rashid hotel but don't expect anything fancy, just good food.
This place doesn't look like much from the outside but I would highly recommend it. The hummus was the best we had in Jordan, the bbq meats were excellent, so fresh and tasty. The staff were so helpful and really lovely. Have a lemon and mint juice - they're delicious!
You must walk up the hill to get here from the main touristy part of Petra where the food is average and the prices high. It's worth the walk. Delicious! Go here!
This place had a great atmosphere and we felt very welcomed by Mohamed and the others working. I had the shish tawook sandwich was amazing and we had the Bendouin Tea which was addictive! We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night to eat again even though we had just eaten at another restaurant!
I think this one's way better than the options listed in lonely planet (where we had dinner also). The meat and veggies are fresh, there's a BBQ outside on the street and the food is great! Big portions of BBQ food, made in front of you. Try their mottabal it's the best we ate in Jordan. O by the way, it's also cheap!
