“Beautiful original mosaics.”
Reviewed January 8, 2014 via mobile

It may looks as a minor attraction after having seen all what's on offer in Petra and indeed it is. But it is nonetheless an interesting testimony of how many different cultures have passed around here. The Byzantine mosaics are truly beautiful and well worth the effort for the detour.

“Worth looking at the Church en route to the basin”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

The mosaics are quite interesting though not really worth a special trip to that part of the site for that alone. The walk through to the basin is worth doing if time permits and there is a viewpoint above the church that gives a good view of the site. There is a little cafe near the church that does sandwiches and freshly squeezed pomegranite juice.

“Beautiful mosaics”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

I liked the place. Worth to climb and go behind the Petra treasury to see this church. I saw a group of people praying there, so important religious place. Mosaics are covered by roof to protect them a bit. And you can look at the beautiful landscape around

“Worth the Climb Up To The Church”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Worth the climb up to see the church. Clear to see are the roman alterations that changed this from a tomb into a church. Inside the rock walls and ceiling have some unusual natural colours the The sound resonance is astounding too. Outside there are some seats so you can catch your breath and look out over the valley below. Once again, as with all of Petra if your not mobile it's not going to be for you.

“Off the main path”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Its on the hills above the Roman Road. I almost missed it. But it is worth seeing just for the mosaic floors.
