“Great Pool”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We stayed here as part of a private tour and even though it is a bit out of the way, but within walking distance, from the main part of Petra it is clean, quiet and had an amazing pool, we pretty much had it to ourselves. Food Selection at breakfast was great aswell.

I just spent one night in the hotel before leaving early in the morning to visit Petra. The hotel was very nice. The staff more than friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the food and I had a good sleep in very comfortable beds. Also the bathrooms are nice, very well equipped.
I will recommend this to my friends going to Petra, as well. And I will go to this hotel again.

This is my second stay at the Kings' Way Hotel and it was another very pleasant stay. I have to disclose that it was for work on the premises but I am writing this as a guest which I was at the hotel. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and cheerful, the food for a four star hotel was excellent. They have a great pool which nobody seems to use as they are off to Petra early in the morning and perhaps too tired to enjoy this little gem when they return. I look forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: Book a new room on the fourth floor.

We spent 2 nights at the King's Way Petra and found the hotel to be clean and quiet. I thought the beds were comfortable. The furnishings and carpet in the room were clean but a little worn. The hotel is far from the main entrance to the historic site in Petra and not much within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel food was adequate. Dinner was better than the breakfast. The breakfast would have been better with fresh juice and fresh bread. The best thing about this hotel was the friendly and helpful staff. The air conditioning didn't work, but it didn't really matter because I just opened the window and it was nice and cool at night. Housekeeping cleaned the rooms, changed the towels in the bathrooms, restocked the minibar but never made our beds which was kind of weird.

With its bit of altitude this is a very pleasant, quiet and airy retreat from the hot stuffiness and hustle and bustle of Petra town in the summer months. Spacious and comfortable rooms, and nice garden area. Restaurant disappointing, but plenty of cheap and cheerful places in town. Town is walkable from the hotel (downhill) but you may prefer to take a taxi for the uphill return. Would definitely advise transport to the entrance of ancient Petra.

We stayed at the kings way for a night. The hotel is away from petra and the main bazaar, so thats the first negative. The room size is decent but has a worn down look. We did the room, breakfast and dinner package. The food is average and you have to pay for any beverage consumed. Howevr the worst part is that the air conditioning does not work. We kept complaining and they said the chiller plant has just started. Ac will cool in 10 minutes. After 4 such interactions, we realised that this is just an excuse, and we opened the small window in the room. We requested for a pedastal fan, and they were niceenough to get us one immediately. That ensured a good nights sleep. There is no free wi fi, or any other facility in the hotel. Avoid it if you can.

Room Tip: Take any room where the ac works !

The recent reviews panning the food selection and quality are spot on. The food is adequate, but just. The rooms a quite worn, but decent. The beds, however, may well be rock slabs from Wadi Musa covered with thin sheets. They were the worst ever!

It was the first time that I've been charged for water at dinner. The wifi was pricey, but was the only wifi available in the area. Our friends stayed at the Crowne Plaza and had a much better experience for only a bit more money.
