“Excellent stay!”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

We had a really great stay at Al Rashid Hotel. The hotel is located in the centre of Wadi Musa, close to a lot of restaurants and ATM's. Everything was very clean, the staff was superfriendly and helpfull, breakfast was very good too! The rooms were very clean and quiet. It is only 10-15min walk to the entrance of Petra ( downhill) You also have some parkingspace in front of the hotel if you coma by with your own car. I definitely recommend this hotel!
Before we arrived I sent a lot of emails with Laith, the owner, because I had a lot of questions about wadi rum and the wadi mujib. He was very helpfull and helped me arrange a lot of things.

This accomadation was just what I was looking for to visit Petra.
Rooms were very nice, clean, and relatively inexpensive (I was particularly impressed with the washrooms which looked brand new).
Located about a 15 min (downhill) walk to the entrance to Petra (but the return trip back to the hotel is a steep uphill walk - you can always take a inexpensive cab).

Note: If you want the rebate to Petra that is given to those who spend at least a night in Jordan, please ask for proof that you checked-in at the hotel (proof of reservation will not be sufficient).

My girlfriend and I had an excellent experience at Al-Rashid Hotel for our two-night stay in Petra. It's really a beautiful hotel. Though we arrived pretty late the first night (11 at night), the staff were extremely accommodating. Parking was simple (we came by car). We called the day before our stay and easily upgraded our two twin bed room to a big double (maybe even queen) sized bed for a perfectly reasonable price. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, everything was very clean, the staff were helpful and kind, and the price was completely reasonable, especially considering prices elsewhere in Jordan.

Surprisingly the hotel was quite empty. I think we came during a low-season for Petra, or perhaps there are just so many hotels driving the price down. Considering the quality and value of the hotel, I was surprised that it wasn't full and bustling!

Do consider the breakfast if you are not a fan of standard Jordanian breakfast fare. There is pita bread, hummus, yoghurt, sweet biscuits, jam, vegetables, coffee, tea, and sugary juice. The breakfast is large and filling, but if those foods do not sound good, inform the staff (I don't know if they can accommodate) or be prepared to find or bring some other food. On the bright side the breakfast is vegetarian-friendly.

Protip: Bedouin's Quick Bite is right across the street from the entrance of the Al-Rashid hotel, and the food served there is delicious (we ate dinner there). It is rated highly on tripadvisor for restaurants in Wadi Musa. So definitely take advantage of that - there are many restaurants and it's easy to make a bad choice after a long day walking around Petra.

We were a group of three and the triple room cost us only 38JD per day. Arrangements were made in advance and everything went off smoothly without a hitch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with AC and running hot water. The 3-bed room was basically a 2-bed room fitted out with an extra bed and with no great view out of the window, but hey we came back to the room only to sleep! The hotel isn't located just outside the Petra entrance so we took a cab back and to the entrance the two times we entered the reserve.

The real plus point of the Al-Rashid was Laith at the desk - helpful, friendly, courteous. He arranged a trip to Wadi Rum and on to Aqaba at a very reasonable rate. Altogether, a friendly trustworthy place to return to after spending the whole day being overcharged for everything inside the Petra reserve.

The hotel was nice and clean, the room was well laid out and had everything you would expect.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Arranged a twin room with no issues.

It is not the closest hotel to the Petra entrance, but it is reflected in the price. The 2JD taxi trip back up the hill is a small price to pay in exchange.

It is not luxury, but it is very good for the price.

Price is very reasonable. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Staff extremely helpful. The Manager even organised tickets for Petra at night. We had a hired car. Parking is off street but safe. Hotel staff were very willing to provide us with advice on what to do in the area. Driving to Petra was a breeze.

The staff was very helpful and nice. They took care about us, preparing our breakfast out of time.... we highly recomend this place. The taxi from Petra is only 2-3JOD, and the price is very good if you compare with other hotels. Free Wifi works well.
