My wife and I were visiting Petra for the first time. We noticed that Al-Ambat Hotel 1 was a bit far away from Petra entrance, therefore we did appreciate their good offer: breakfast, dinner and transportation to/from Petra entrance included. Breakfast and Dinners were very good and rich; they provide transportation to and from the Petra entrance area; always willing to come and pick you up any time you want. When you arrive there ask of Mr. Khaldon, he is very kind, speaks English and can organize for you anything you need.

We had 2 rooms, 5 of us total including a 2 yr old. My wife and I had never been to Petra and not only loved it - but found this family run hotel to be a perfect oasis after hiking around Petra. The Turkish bath is a life saver, the rooms are very comfortable. The view is fantastic from the patio area. The food at the Panorama restaurant is fantastic - be sure to ask for Obama when you sit down. I also highly, highly recommend Hani as a guide - he took us to Little Petra and the back way to the monastery..very knowledgeable, excellent english, and fantastic guy. Thanks again for your hospitality guys - Van Damme

Room Tip: Get a double - it has a balcony

I visited Jordan and Petra several times
And I can say with confidence that this is one of the best hotels in its category
This boutique hotel is run by a local warm family
Staff goes out of his way to help any small or large issue
Also on the responsibility of the hotel and the topics are not in their responsibility.
rooms are Clean very large and spacious, most rooms have balconies
Large dining room is clean and new,
The food at dinner is a Jordanian home cooking delicious and variety.
Refreshing pool and Turkish good bath , suitable especially after the exhausting trip to Petra.
Finally the hotel is defined as a three star hotel but with my experience in Jordan it match to 4 star hotels
Strongly recommend

We supposed to stay at another hotel in Petra but he was closed for maintenance, so the hostel sent us to Alenbat hotel II.
The hotel is just renovated and the rooms are in pretty good state, hope that will continue. You can take a look at the sunset from the roof, or maybe your room if you are on the good side. we had a fridge in the room and also a TV.
The beds were just AMAZING in our room.
Breakfast is pretty light, but it's still good to eat something before the hardest day in Petra.
If you want to walk, you need 15,20min. On the first way its ok, but at the end of the day it's pretty exhausting and you are going to need a taxi .

At the end its a great place to stay.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. The staff are very helpful, and the joining rooms we had large and suffice. but that is just about where the good experience ended.
The pool was absolutely freezing (in Aug?), the breakfast was atrocious with warm powered milk for the kids cereal. No hot water in the rooms, air conditioned dripped all night.
Location was good, about 10 mins from Petra, and the hotel did organise our tickets which was very much appreciated.
However given the choice I would not stay there again.

Setting and views are magnificent of mountainous terrain surrounding hotel which is a kilometer or so out of town. Rooms are spacious, staff is low-key but wants to do the right thing by its guests, and they know how to find solutions to whatever your needs may be. After two days of Petra, we ordered up a steam bath and rub-down on short notice, at a time when there weren't a lot of other guests. They worked it out and had the full experience, which was expertly done by Mohammed, an Egyptian who has clearly been trained on how to do it right. The steam room featured beautiful tiles, and the rub-down room included an elegant patterned ceiling.
The desk clerk, Mu'haman, also arranged for our visit to Petra by night -- our tickets were available to us at the end of the day on Petra. Breakfast was basic hard-boiled eggs and yogurt with breads, but tasty, and coffee was good by any standard. They have a pretty indoor swimming pool A good three-star hotel is exactly right. Complaints: hot-water is iffy, depending on time of day, and maybe there is no wi-fi, but we weren't there for the Internet. To be cleaned, fed and taken care of after Petra is a delight.
