Friendly staff and very helpful. It is a good base to explore Petra. However it needs updating and the food was average. it seems to have suffered from the overall reduction in tourists to Jordan. It is clean and was good value.

Room tip: Rooms away from the main road are quieter.

This was my second visit to Petra with a hotel stay and the first time I was at the Movenpick and was disappointed in what I got for the price. This time, we booked at the Petra Palace and there is nothing bad to say about it...I'm completely confused at some of the bad reviews on Tripadvisor. First of all, the rooms are just as good as the Movenpick for much less money. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are huge and well decorated, and the amenities are wonderful. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding and plentiful and the hotel is basically right outside the gate of Petra. There are two beautiful pools as well which come in handy after a day of hiking in Petra. The only negative I can possibly find is that the free wifi has no coverage in the rooms but you can sit in the lobby with a drink and use it there. A really wonderful establishment in a town known for its high prices for accommodation.

The hotel has seen better days but it's clean and comfortable.
The breakfasts were okay. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The bar in the evening was reasonably priced and convivial. There are two small outside swimming pools but our visit was in early March so we didn't take the plunge.

It is a very old hotel which needs some renovation, but not so derelict as many people here.
overall it was good and it was very well located close to the gate of Petra, and close to many restaurants.
The breakfast was nice and good with a huge selection, at this price range.

The wifi was available only in the lobby which was annoying

the reception people were nice

the promised spa was closed and the hamman add to be paid extra.....pity! we would have paid but it was only for 30 min max, while we enjoying passing from hamman to jacuzzi and viceversa.

The least friendly receptionist, the worst food the stickyest carpets, the most falling to pieces room furniture and the worst breakfasts of our week's stay in Jordan. Having said that it's very close to the wonderful Petra site and there is a nice restaurant Three Steps very nearby.
