This hotel is nothing special but a in a fantastic location. After a LONG day walking around Petra the last thing you want to do is keep walking to your hotel. This hotel is one of the closest to the entrance. Free wifi in lobby is very useful because even some of the more $ hotels charge you.

The rooms are a decent size but I wasn't that happy with the shower, even with no cold water it wasn't hot enough for me, my boyfriend however was fine with it.

Hotel has 2 pools which is cool.
Breakfast is included, nothing special BUT worth it because supermarkets will not provide you with suitable breakfast food.

Hotel also close to a number of restaurants and mini markets to buy water etc.

Reception staff were helpful especially when we had an issue with the taxi driver and payment when we arrived.

Overall I'd stay again because you're there for Petra not the hotel. If you want a great location and good hotel then stay at the movenpic next door.

Go in with low expectations as the place isn't a palace & the rooms are a little tired.
However, the rooms are very clean & spacious. The shower was fantastic - hot & powerful!
The reception staff are friendly & helpful.
Breakfast is usual buffet affair but adequate - it is worth trying the umm ali even tho' it seems wrong eating it for breakfast!
The swimming pool is refreshing after a hot day trambing about Petra (not heated & doesn't get the sun on it).
The hotel is only a 2 minute walk to the entrance to Petra. Lots of choice of restaurants nearby. Free wifi in lobby.

Ths hotel is just outside the entrance to Petra which makes it a great location. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. It has two beautiful pools. We did the Turkish Bath (worth doing if you've never done one) and the jacuzzi was fabulous. Eating out by the pool deck for dinner in the cool evening made for the end of a perfect day. The staff was very friendly and accomondating.

We reached this hotel pretty late and tired at night. And headed out to Petra at the crack of dawn. So the experience in between was quite decent. We got a room facing the pool. And there were not many people were in the pool at the middle of a 10 degree night. So we had a peaceful sleep.
But the room had no slippers. And very few towels. There was a buffet dinner available, but we were too tired to have it.
The pathways to our room was long and winding and a bit confusing. But this hotel served its purpose. So overall, I would say a decent experience

Room Tip: If you are spending time in your rooms, make sure you pick a room away from the swimming pool. Else...

The hotel was far from a palace!! As said in other reviews the redeeming feature of the hotel is the location as it is only a few minutes walk from the entrance to Petra. The room was very dated and not particularly clean. The first night in the room they hadn't put bath towels in my room. The guidebook said there was a "lively" bar but it was dark with no atmosphere and we got kicked out at 10.45pm. There was wifi in the lobby but not in the room. During the stay a number of the group got food poisoning. One person rang reception to ask for water in the night but they were told there is no room service. Whilst it wasn't the hotel that made people ill I was disappointed with the lack of help provided by the hotel when someone was ill. Would not stay again.

If you need a place to crash before hitting Petra at the crack of dawn... then this place is kinda okay (for £50)... as it is a stone's throw from the gate... although I would not go back. Our room was not clean... the beds are uncomfortable, I would not walk on the carpet barefoot, there was blood stain (i believe) on my sheet the towels were also stained and the hallways are dim and a bit like a bad movie. Breakfast was okay - strong coffee, sweet rolls, eggs, cereal and some other bits and bobs... Pool - i would not even put my feet in it! yuck!
Service was decent (not always with a smile but they had answers) but the desk clerk did totally save us by getting us a taxi and negotiating a good rate back to Amman as the drivers didnt speak english. was above and beyond!

As other reviewers have stated, this Hotel is in a great location. I stayed here as part of a tour group; if I had been booking a Petra hotel myself then I may have looked elsewhere.
However, although its pretty dated, our room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was ok. In fact, we spent very little time in our room as like everyone else, we were here to see Petra. The breakfast was adequate, although on one morning the staff were obviously overrun with a very full restaurant which struggled to cope with the large numbers.
No wi-fi in the rooms, but there was ok reception in the foyer.
There is a small bar where you can have a beer after your day's walking !
