My husband and I spent 2 nights in Beit Zaman hotel at the beginning of March, and we loved it. It was almost empty because it was the beginning of the season and because there are fewer tourists in Jordan in general at the moment. The room was beautiful, perfectly clean, and with a very high level of comfort. We had a warm welcome from the people there, we enjoyed the large heated swimming pool, and most importantly the room was very quiet, as the hotel is built as a "village", with many very small buildings.

Really loved this hotel. Built into a village-like area. Room was celan and quiet and food in restaurant was very good. Traveled to Petra from there by guide. Place was almost deserted as visitors are not coming to the middle east right now. Pool was almost our own as very few folks around

Room Tip: I think all of the room would be quiet and clean

Located just about 5 minutes drive to the entrance of Petra, on of the 7 wonders of the world. The hotel gives you the feeling of being in a little village. The rooms are excellent and the amenities are all good. The pool closes at 8 pm but they were so considerate to give me time to swim and relax. The staff are all hospitable and friendly. There is no wi-fi though in the individual rooms but is available at the lobby. I will surely recommend this to friends who would like to see Petra.

Room Tip: If you are not fond of walking on a hilly road, ask for a room close to the reception building.

This hotel is a few minutes drive from Petra. The hotel is build in the ruins of the old city. The facilities are modern and rooms although difficult to find initially provide good accommodation. The bars are a little expensive but what you would expect from a 4-5 star hotel. Meals were ok and the heated swimming pool was excellent after a long day walking the Petra valley.

The hotel is located ca. 10 minutes by car from the entrance of Petra, under the "tourist road". Nice location. The hotel consists of small stone houses with comfortable rooms. Everything is very well maintained. In this time of year we enjoyed the indoor heated swimming pool very much. The swimming pool is rather big with really warm water. Great. Staff is attentive although not very personal. Food is good, but certainly not great. Some extra decoration in the big restaurant would be nice (some candles at the tables would have been nice at at Christmas eve .....).
By the way: do not confuse this hotel with the Taybet Zaman, the latter hotel is located way above Petra, much further away.

We did not want to stay at this hotel and had requested a transfer from the travel company in Jordan who had made the booking but due to administrative issues this did not happen.
We were led to believe this hotel is 5* but having stayed there it is not in my opinion worthy of this rating, an opinion shared by other guests who were there at the same time. It is also 3 Km out of Petra and you need to pay for taxis to get to and from Petra.
The buildings are unusual and built in an authentic style which is very appealing, the pool area clean and heated, fabulous views over the town of Petra
The room was adequate but the main door did not fit properly and had to be slammed to close which late at night must have annoyed neighbouring rooms.
The member of staff who checked us in and showed us the facilities was charming - sadly we never saw him again - the remaining staff were sullen and did not make you feel welcome - on speaking to the receptionist to raise a concern I was met with a total blank attitude of dis-interest. One morning we were rudely awakened by banging on the door with the cleaner demanding to come in and service our room!!! It seems as if the staff needed training on customer service.
We made arrangements to visit Petra by night - we informed the hotel staff and they assured us that the restaurant would still be open on our return - HO HO! on our return they greeted us with the news that they has closed the restaurant early, we were back well within the restaurant opening hours, - food might have been available using the left overs from that evenings meals - not a bright idea in a country where it is advisable to eat freshly cooked food to avoid any tummy upsets. This resulted in us having to call and pay for a taxi back into Petra and fortunately our friendly taxi driver ensured he found a restaurant and waited outside to take us back to our hotel. The following day I reported this to the management who could not care an iota!!!! Not the result or treatment you expect from a supposedly 5* hotel. Their answer was to report to our tour company who had allocated us to this hotel - that also proved to be ineffective and no-one wanted to take responsibility for the poor standards.
Thankfully our stay at this hotel was short. It has a great deal of possibilities to become a fantastic resort but needs serious management and staff changes to make this happen.

Room Tip: Make sure you view your room before agreeing to accept it and check in.

The room was extremely comfortable. It was large and I loved the toiletries which were all Dead Sea products. The staff were quite helpful. I found the buildings very quaint. We stayed there for only a night before going to Petra.
