Visiting Petra and staying at the Rock camp was definitely the best part of my 10 day Jordan trip. I will never forget it and I can recommend anyone to come here.
I expected a simple camp in the desert but the Rock camp is so much more than that. It's beautifully set up and almost has a luxurous feeling with nice tile bathrooms, proper "rooms" with comfortable beds, delicious food and a little "bar" where you can buy your drinks (alcohol too). Everything was just so nice and I couldnt complain about anything.
There's a little hill which you can climb to view the most beutiful sunset. We also got to try out bedouin traditions like baking bread, getting henna tattos and kohl make up.
Going from the camp to Wadi Musa/Petra is well organized and you will get a ride when ever you need it. I would recommend to go early in the morning around 7-8 when Petra isn't crowded yet.
The kind staff is another reason to stay at the Rock camp. Everyone was super friendly and service minded and will make sure you have a great experience. The atmosphere is friendly, warm and welcoming.
Looking forwards to going back in the future.
