The guide on our Jordan tour said that he always ate here when visiting Petra. We looked inside the front door of the alternative place and decided to join him.
The Basin was pretty busy, so speed of service for drinks was a bit erratic. But not annoyingly slow, and after a long morning's walk, we were happy to sit. Service was very friendly and helpful, and assisted us move tables as more of our group came in.
The place was clean and the beer was cold. There was a reasonable choice of food. I was happy with what I chose. This where I learned to eat houmous with chilli and olive oil.
Perhaps, the price was a little high for the quality, but you have to remember where you are. I would give this 3.5 stars.
