“Good hotel and good location”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

We spent 3 night at La Maison. The room was clean and spacious enough. The staff was very kind and caring. The restaurant was a buffet: decent choice and quite good, with good service.
I think they should change the locks of the rooms' doors, a bit noisy when you shut the door...

If your are looking for a place close to the entrance of Petra (ad trust me, after the day or not of walking inside of Petra, having the hotel close to the entrance is the only thing you wish for :) ), and having a good rest with breakfast for reasonable price, this is the place.

Petra is a really hilly place and even if your hotel shows on a map as "not that far from entrance" think twice, or switch on the 3D google map to see where it is, otherwise you may need to be taking taxis (extra $ for low budget travelers) there and back every time.

Staff was very nice and helpful, they helped me contact lots of people regarding tours (which were usually more expensive than what I had ready, but they really tried), and helped me get breakfast the last before it was open as I was leaving the hotel early for Wadi Rum.
Even though with the breakfast, one day it was jsut continental, other day it was quite big breakfast with hot food as well (maybe depends on the day of the week or number of people staying in)
The room and shower clean, nit of noise of coming through the door if people were right outside, but most of us sleep at night, and it was a big issue.

If I come back, I would most likely choose the same place because of its location and price and on a good a breakfast too :))

After spending a tiring day at Petra, it was very comforting to have the hotel so near. So a definite plus on its location. The hotel looks great from outside, staff is friendly and good. We had our breakfast booked along with the room, however the person at the reception missed it. But on showing him the print out that we had got along with us, he immediately corrected his error. Morning breakfast spread is great. The room size is good and it looks great. But you can make out that the sheets are old and they have bobbins on them. Apart from that it was an extremely pleasant stay.

I spent only one night here . I like the hotel only because it is just 5 minutes away from Petra Visitor's center. I arrived early in Petra and the reception allowed me to check in early as I was really tired. However, the room , though it was clean , what they gave me was close to the generator and it was very noisy. I didn't care that much coz I was really tired, but they could have told me that this available room is near to the generator. Not all the staff are friendly though. Wifi didn't reach my room. I think it is only available in the lobby but the receptionist said it is also available in the rooms.

Room Tip: don't take rooms in the mezzanine floor!

We were in wadi musa just to visit Petra. Having this in mind the "la Maison H" was a very good accommodation: it's just 5 min far from the visitors centre of Petra. If you like to visit the site till night, you can go back to hotel just by walk. The room was ok. The staff very friendly, also when we had some problem with our room. They organized also a taxi ride for us to wadi rum. 30jod. It was a good price. The hot water is not always a available during the day, but it's ready in the morning and evening. remember that you are in the desert ... The buffet dinner was ok(12jod) and also the breakfast was good.

I stayed 4 nights there, was a terrible mistake.

Pros: Very close to the entrance of Petra (5 min walk)
Breakfast buffet

Cons: Staff totally unfriendly
Room was not clean properly, it was filthy
Breakfast buffet was not good
our room has a view on the generator so it was noisy all day&night

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the generator if you want to sleep!

We arrived in the afternoon , check in was quick , they had a cup of tea ready for us in the lobby :)
The room was clean with modern furniture , I couldn't get the TV to work but who cares :)
Hot water was only available till night fall so remember to shower before diner , the hotel is located about 3 minute walk from the park (very convenient)!
The staff was great and welcoming , the roof top restaurant had just opened and we had a 3 course meal for 12€ (any place else it would be double) , breakfast was included , I recommend the hotdogs , hummus and olives (you'll need the energy if you want to climb all the hills in Petra) , after a long 6 hours in the sun we had the local Petra beer in a cold pint glass (3.5€) , there is wifi in the lobby and the restaurant , just ask the front desk for the password :)
We stayed for three nights (130€) reasonable price for a 3 star hotel , I would highly recommend this hotel and the staff really went out of their way to help us .
