“Excellent budget hotel, close to Petra entrance!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

It was really a pleasure to stay here. I had a nice, spacious room with a fan for 20 JD which was very reasonable. I opted for the 7 JD hotel dinner every night, prepared by their Egyptian chef, and the multicourse meal was very good (eating out in this prohibitively expensive tourist town will drain your wallet). There was also plenty of food for breakfast which is available as early as 6:00 AM. Since the hotel is practically at the entrance to Petra, I was able to enter the complex around 6:30 and was the only one walking down the siq. How many people can enjoy such privileged solitude? And I owe it to the location of the hotel.

The owner Belal--as I discovered--is liked and respected everywhere in town. He's known for his professionalism, as well as for his generous and caring nature. Thanks to him, there is a special feeling of well-being which I've not experienced in other hotels. I felt welcome and looked after. Belal arranged a tour for me at Wadi Rum--I spent a day and night there with Abu Ali and his son. There were no other tourists and I was able to savor the amazing beauty of the desert by myself. Let Belal arrange this tour for you. Don't miss out on Wadi Rum--it is an unforgettable experience.

Last but not least, the receptionist--Keltoum--at the hotel was an absolute delight, friendly, engaging, and hospitable. She made a real difference with her charm!

We chose this hotel as it was so close to the Petra entrance which was very true. After a whole day walking around the site the last thing you want is to be walking any extra time to your hotel. This is its only redeeming feature.

It is a mediocre hotel with mediocre service. The sink kept on leaking in the bathroom – when we notified reception they said that they had fixed it however they had not and it repeated every morning and evening. The shower itself went from ok temperature to freezing cold at regular intervals. I think we had a better room than most and this was still basic.

We used the lunch box once (4jd per person) and did not rate it. It was a basic wrap with meat or cheese, a piece of fruit, cucumber, tomato, pastry and a fruit juice carton. Go to the local shops nearby and DIY your lunch as the restaurant inside Petra is way too expensive!

We had breakfast on one occasion (we wanted to get in early to avoid the tour groups and have the Siq and treasury to ourselves which proved magical!) and it was bog standard. Simple array of food on offer and everything still cling filmed or partially opened by cling film. Don’t expect a good hearty breakfast before your exertion of Petra – maybe top yourself up with snacks and fruit from the shops to tide you over.

Overall a mediocre hotel conveniently located and reasonably priced which is its saving grace. Don’t expect to come here and find nothing more.

Good convenient hotel close to Petra and cafe etc
We recommend prospective guests ask to see rooms first as there is some better than others. The rooms near the front have views and appear to be much nicer.
The rooms are basic, but are clean and tidy
Breakfast is pretty average

This hotel has it all.
Friendly staff, airport transfers, taxi service, hearty breakfast, basic rooms. It's not the Four Seasons but whilst in Petra, you're not there to stay in a luxury hotel, you're looking at an ancient wonder! Perfect location, perfect price.

It's a good hotel, modern, nice rooms with private bathroom only 200m fromthe entrance of Petra for 25JD for a double room. What a deal! Hot shower is only available morning and evening. The lunch box for 4JD is great, because the restaurants around the hotel and inside Petra are very expensive. Staff is nice and free wifi is available is the lobby. Petra is an amazing place you're gonna love it!

Very close to Petra entrance, that is why I chose it. Room was simple but clean, bed OK, typical breakfast for the area, nothing fancy. All staff extremely helpful and well-informed. Really there is nothing more you would want from a hotel in this category.

Good location, only 5 minutes from the entrance to Petra and restuarants nearby. Reasonably quiet hotel, fairly clean and good service. Fairly basic buffet served. All up good value for money for a budget hotel. Free wifi in the lobby.
