“Amazing location, staff and value”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

Excellent service and all staff very helpful, but particularly Moseleh who had excellent email communication with us to arrange Petra by night tickets ready for our evening arrival, gave us free drop offs from the hotel to Petra gate, organised the best value Wadi Rum tour out of all the tens of email quotes I'd already received directly from recommended wadi rum guides, and arranged excellent value transfer from wadi rum-Aqaba. Always helpful and always available, he was a blessing. The room was excellent value given its location close to Petra, and there was a huge king size bed. The room was clean. Very minor point which won't bother most budget travellers is that there was no room service to clean the room in between...but it didn't bother us at all as we only stayed two nights. Breakfast was good and one of the staff even packed it up for us when we were running late for our transfer to wadi rum. Another minor, unavoidable point, but due to location it is very noisy at night. Nothing that ear plugs didn't sort out though! Overall the best value stay we had in Jordan, and Moseleh is a gem!

The service is absolutely awesome, we have certainly been made to feel at home. The rooms are modern, clean, spacious and very elegant. Probably the nicest room we have had so far in Jordan. The breakfast is pretty sweet too! They do lunchboxes for your day at Petra that are pretty good value at 3JD. They are also very helpful with other travel plans, organising trips to Wadi Rum and connecting travellers together to help them get down costs. All up, I would without doubt stay here again and recommend it to everyone I know.

We had a whistle-stop tour through Jordan ( a real shame as it warrants a much longer stay ) on which we came to Wadi Musa from Wadi Rum, had a day in Petra and then returned to Amman (way too rushed, I know!) However, we found the Cleopetra Hotel to be a very good choice. It is quite some distance away from the Petra gates, but that's almost a plus. They provide free transport from and to the gates (just send a text message and you'll be picked up, very efficient).

Wadi Musa is very hilly, and people staying closer to the gates would actually have to do more tiring tarmac-hiking as they wouldn't have transport. Mosleh was very good at organising us onward transport to Amman at an amazing price, as well as organising us a little "filler", a trip to Little Petra, which was well worth the money (less touristy than it's big brother and we had it almost to ourselves, apart from slightly pushy souvenir sellers at the entrance).

The hotel was well equipped, had a functioning aircon, and whilst not quite the Moevenpick, it provided all we needed (apart from towels, Mosleh forgot to his embarrassment... very out-of-character :-)..) There is a nice Showarma place just down the street and western food too (if you really must) Cleopetra normally offers on-site food as well but the chef had a day off on our night which was fine with other restaurants so close by. All in all well recommended and Mosleh is a very charming host who'll ply you with more mint tea than you can ever drink!

Room Tip: Choose a room looking out the back of the hotel, they have a green mini-jungle with lots of colourfu...

Mosleh and Cleopetra were totally great. Very nice people (though the Egyptian guy working there was way too stressed out) and the room was comfortable. The taxi however I was set up with really was a problem - asking for more money, not stopping sometimes when I asked, generally impatient and not pleasant to be around. This is a problem since it was recommended to me - but I've been reassured that they're taking care of it! But beware. There is a taxi guy named Hassan who is truly wonderful - an older man who lives in Jerash and everyone seems to know him. Go with him!

I was really impressed with this hotel. If you're looking for luxury then this isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a nice room, a decent price and a great host then I couldn't recommend this place any more. What makes it special is the owner, who was so friendly and helpful that it made our stay in Petra a delight! We were short of cash and couldn't afford to eat out a lot so he made us traditional meals in the hotel for bargain prices, and he spent ages on the phone arranging a ridiculously cheap taxi for us back to the airport. Super friendly guy. I would also recommend staying here if you want more of a local Jordanian experience, rather than staying at one of the chain hotels.

We got a ferry over from Egypt to Jordan. The hotel organised a driver to pick us up at the ferry terminal and drive us to Petra, Wadi Mursa. The ferry was extremely late (9 hours with no indication of this) we had to sleep on the ferry and the driver slept in his car while waiting for us in Jordan. The driver and hotel owner were so understanding and didn't charge us for the night (or any extra for the taxi) as we arrived at 6am the next day. He gave us a free breakfast that morning and let us check in early only paying for the next night. The hotel people are so helpful and even gave us a free lift down to Petra's gates. This is an excellent place to stay, great value for money, very comfortable rooms and a good breakfast - we would definitely recommend it!

Good value + clean + friendly
Staff is very friendly and willing to help all they can. Will also drop off to petra for free. Breakfast is included and also good. Rooms are clean and spacious. Good location, as is close to petra and all the main restaurants.
