Unfortunately,we only stayed one night.Directions provided with the booking were excellent.Left our hired car at the reception and took the 4x4 which all went well.Yes the 4x4 was an old tatty vehicle which we didn't mind. You wouldn't expect a modern one.We arrived at the lodge at noon and were met by Ali who was very friendly and explained that the room wasn't ready and so we set off on our own for a hike.Ali suggested that we didn't go all the way to Dana as it was some 5hr trek with a 2 hr return. We had booked a deluxe room which was fab with a small balcony. The food was vegetarian and very nice, however could have been a bit spicy. After dinner, relaxing with a cup of tea in front of a fire,we chatted with Suleiman Hasaseen one of the guides who seemed very knowledgeable and passionate about the lodge and what it does to the area and for the locals. He spoke very good English and loved every minute in wanting to learn more phrases/sayings.

The lodge is lit via candles (apart from the bathroom),which fab.

We wish we could have spent more time aswe found the lodge and the surroundings very peaceful and tranquil.

We stayed 2 nights at Feynan Ecolodge and the visit was made special by our time with Sulimen Hassesan, one of the guides who, like the others, lives a Bedouin lifestyle when he's not at work. His insight, enthusiasm and knowledge made the stay particularly memorable.
The lodge itself is comfortable, functional and in a great location with the mountains of Dana all around to explore. After dinner up on the roof terrace gave a great chance for star gazing and they have a telescope for close up views of, in our case, the moon and Jupiter. The vegetarian food didn't completely impress but they don't have meat because of the limited, solar only, electricity that would make it difficult to keep. The best thing we had though was tea in a Bedouin tent we were walking by away from the camp and were invited into to sit and share. Bedouin hospitality has a totally justified reputation!

Room Tip: The most expensive rooms have a small balcony, otherwise have the same facilities as the others and...

My partner and I went to Feynan to celebrate our anniversary without knowing what to expect, and all i can say is that this was my best anniversary EVER! the directions to get there as foreigners was easy, and exactly as explained by Feynan Ecolodge staff. We went for the sunset hike accompanied by the lodge manager Nabil, who overheard that it was our anniversary. By the time we came back to the lodge, the lodge was all candle lit and i mean everything except for the toilets. The candle lit lodge was extremely romantic and serene. After dinner, the staff surprised us with a cake and sang for us, it was the sweetest gesture, they were all very warm and genuine people. to top it all, we were lucky that night to have clear skies to enjoy the star gazing at the roof top.

i would definitely go back again for my next anniversary, or maybe before, its highly recommended for couples.

Excellent position in the wadi with stunning views and lack of light pollution made the stars really wondrous. Candlelight was no problem, but we went in Mid April and the mosquitoes were already active - they are tiny but raise huge lumps on your flesh and are particularly bad when you sit on the terrace in the evening.

Feynan Ecolodge was definitely the highlight of our trip to Jordan. We've been exploring Jordan for 10 days before reaching Feynan Ecolodge, which was our last outdoor activity before heading to Aqaba.
We were a group of five people from Europe, we all loved the architecture of the place, the breakfast, the hikes and the local community. personally i was hoping for a more comfortable bed after the hike, but again, its an ecolodge, not a 5 star hotel.
The nicest part of the trip was leaving for the sunset hike, and coming back to the lodge were it was all candle lit, it was magical, an out of this world experience.
its highly recommended for couples i have to say, I'll make sure to come back with my girlfriend, when i have one

We stayed for just one night and arrived in time for a quick evening meal (somewhat challenging to eat by candle light!) and then popped up to the roof for some star gazing which the kids found fascinating.

The staff on our arrival were welcoming and friendly, and explained everything clearly.

Our spotless family room accommodated all of us comfortably, and fortunately the bathroom had electric lighting and a reasonable shower. Tip: Use the insect nets! My husband and youngest child woke with a number of bites.

Breakfast was a hasty affair followed by a four hour hike. This was an excellent walk led by a charming guide and culminated with tea made over an open fire. The kids loved this! On the way we got a fascinating glimpse of bedouin life.

On our return we had lunch before the four-wheel drive back to the reception area.

We would definitely think about returning, possibly for a couple of nights.

Not knowing quite what to expect, we met the hotel's off-road pickups and after a half hour drive, arrived at this remote hotel in the dark and entered a magical candle-lit lobby and courtyard. After booking in to our very small, quaint, but perfectly adequate candle-lit room we had a pleasant buffet in the dining room. All food is vegetarian.

They generate solar electricity, which is not enough to light the whole hotel, but the en-suite bathrooms do have a low power electrc light in them.

There are also mosquito nets over the beds, although in April these are not needed.

Although there is no alcohol available, they are happy for you to bring your own, so we took our bottle of wine up to the roof where they have a seating area where you can lay back and enjoy the stunning night sky with no light polution. They also have a telescope and a very knowledgeable Bedouin who explained what we could see and pointed the telescope at Jupiter with 2 of it's moons, a star cluster, the Orion Nebula (we could see the gas cloud) and Saturn complete with rings - amazing.

The following morning there was a buffet breakfast, then we set off for a walk up the stream bed towards Dana before meeting up at a pre-arranged place with the hotel's off-road pickups who had our luggage and took us back down the valley to our tour bus.
