“Devonshire Lodge perfection”

Went to Bansko for New Year had the best time ever. Nigel, Glynis and Tosh made me fell like one of the family they are so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The food is in the 5* class so tasty. Nothing like an hour or two in the hot tub after a hard day on the hill or just to relax after your meal and gaze at the stars, even had one day and it was snowing while in the tub what an experience and the Snow conditions are perfect.

I stayed at Devonshire Lodge in late January 2011. Our group of 13 20-somethings could have been quite daunting to most, but Nigel and Glynis were more than welcoming, the perfect hosts.

Everything they did - from the ski advice from those of us that weren't as experienced, to the home made sloe gin Nigel shared with us, the hot tub, the full english every morning before they took us to the slopes, then the home made cakes after they had come to pick us up - was spot on.

I just wish we had opted for fully catered, although Bankso is cheap to eat out, the food was pretty awful and if the breakfast and cake is anything to go by then Devonshire Lodge would have been a better place to eat in the evening.

We were staying for a friend's 30th birthday, and it was everything we needed and more. The chalets themselves were comfortable and clean, and the hot tub was an absolute bonus and we found ourselves in the routine of having a hot tub and a beer after our tea and cake every day!

A real holiday to remember, have been meaning to review for absolutely ages! Thank you Glynis, Nigel, Tosh and also Ryan and Kelly for the food and bar recommendations! All 13 of us loved it and would definitely stay again.

Glynis, Nigel and Tosh were very friendly and extremely helpful throughout. Nothing is too much trouble and their local knowledge was exceptional which really added to the experience.
The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable and great value. Breakfast was plentiful and flexible each morning and the lemon cake made by Glynis was the best we've ever had!
There are loads of summer activities on offer which are all great value - we particularly enoyed the hiking which was stunning and brilliantly led by Nigel.
We had a great time - we're not skiers but if the service level in summer is anything to go for I'm sure it's a fantastic place for winter sports.
Thanks!

I always stay at Devonshire Lodge when in Bansko, nothing is too much trouble and Glynis should write her own cookbook if the standard of food is anything to go by.

This was a short trip with family, a baby cot and linen were in the room on arrival which still left loads of space.

Highly recommended to anyone whether in a group, single family or lone traveller.

Well were do i start?? Me and 5 mates booked in for the end of march and to be fair its the best holiday i have ever had. All of us were new snowboarders and had just had lessons in Manchester before we flew out.

Nigel and Glynis are the owners and they answered every possible question we had (we had a lot lol) From the moment we got to the airport we were looked after perfectly :-)

The food was top quality every night a lot beter than we expected to be fair. Think we only went out for food one night and thats because it was some ones birthday :-)

They were also very flexible with lifts up to the gondola as a few nights we did have a few beers, so late ish trips up to the gondola were not a problem :-)

I dont know what else to say other than we all loved it from the town and slopes to Glynis and Nigel so much so that we are in the process of booking again only with more people this time :-)

tried taking teens on holiday? , tried finding good home cooking for picky eaters?, tried to find freindly hoteliers ?TRYdevonshire lodge. we (15 year old and parent ), did it was the best choice, taking hormonal teens on ski trips was not my first choice but the Devonshire was , from good service ,exelent food, and owners who go out of their way to help ,sorting ski boots , picking up lost teens from local cafes and giving them second and third helpings of puddings when they didnt eat the veg then go no where else a real gem of a find for stresed parents taking kids abroad, well done to all

Room Tip: all rooms good

Me and 11 friends stayed at the Devonshire Lodge and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The owners and staff were really nice, nothing was too much for them, from the minute we got there they explained everything to us and got us sorted immediately with ski hire and lessons. The lodge itself is beautiful, all of the rooms were lovely and very clean and the bar area is lovely to relax in and the hot tub is a fantastic finish! I wish we had opted to go fully catered because the only let down of the holiday was the really poor food from restaurants in the area - I dont think we had one nice meal when we were there but this is obviously no reflection on the lodge at all - the cakes they provided daily were always delicious. I am really looking forward to returning in the future and will definitely be recommending to friends.
