a group of 7 guys on a skiing trip went here recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and ate so much we didn't feel like breakfast the next morning.
We started by sharing garlic bread, two tomato and cucumber salads, and two portions of chicken livers. The livers came on hot plates about 10inches square, piled high with livers, mushrooms, onions and some chips on top. They were delicious and very filling. We could really have done with them as a main meal. 4 of us then shared a shoulder of lamb with rice and potatoes, two had the big chicken skewer ( and it was big ) and the other had a family chicken hotplate, which was huge. with several carafes of red wine, many bottles of beer and a few large waters, the total bill came to about one hundred pounds, or less than £15 each. Absolutely fantastic value for money.

I really like it. The location is good for me - in the downtown, the food is exellent, the service is nice, and overall not so expensive - about 50 lv. for two all inclusive. Everytimme i visit Bansko i don`t miss to visit the Baryakova Tavern.

We visited the place for dinner and it was ok but not something special. The service was good, large portions but the food was average.

From the moment we stepped into this restaurant, we knew we came to the right place. Nice, authentic interior, sound of live gypsy music, and a smell of proper domestic Bulgarian cuisine. From starters to the mains, from wine to home-made hot rakija(brandy), from service to atmosphere and ambient, everything was great. We came again 2days after, and tried different dishes, and again were impressed!

We were recommended to eat here but it wasn;t very good. It's a cosy little traditional Bulgarian restaurant. When we walked in we were just left to stand and ignored by the staff. We asked a couple of people and they just walked off, we didn;t know whether to follow or wait.

We eventually got a table and our waiter was one of the most unfriendly, unhappy and unhelpful people we have come across. We tried to order something and he would suggest something else, "No, we'll have waht we ordered please". The beers were good (Staropramen) and the soup for starter was pretty good but the main dish a chicken skewer cooked over the fire was just so watery (as the meat seems to be in a lot of restaurants) that the texture and taste was just not right at all. When we came to pay the waiter brought our bill and said that we had to pay about 8 lev more on the amount it said because there were a couple of drinks not on there. He was right but it seemed like he had purposefully done it as a little trick to pocket a bit more money

Anyway it was OK, nothing more nothing less. Oh and they had live music that would come round and stand behind you whilst trying to have a chat and bang their drums REALLY loudly, that's just annoying when eating
