I highly recommend the canapy tour!!!, we had a blast, very friendly staff made our experience a real treat, it was simply beautiful zipping through the trees! I am terrified of heights, but the staff made me feel very comfortable, and I am so glad I did it.

A group of 16 physicians and significant others stayed at the Riverwind Lodge for a weekend. The cabin was unbelievably nice- granite counter tops, very clean, and it even smelled new. The area was large enough to have multiple areas for us to spread out, but there were also areas large enough for all of is to be together. Nice bathrooms, nice hot tub and a breath-taking view of the mountains.
My expectations were surpassed!!!
Would love to make this an annual trip.

We recently held our family reunion at BOC, family members rented the lodge and several of the cabins. Nothing could have been better and the staff responded immediately if we had a need. They were extremely busy as the 94 of us were there in Memorial Day weekend, but with the service we received you would not have known we weren't their only customers. Amazing people!!! Thanks for your help making the 2014 Maxwell Family reunion so memorable!

This review is for the actual Buffalo Outdoor Center (main) location. We didn't stay in the cabins, but we did frequent the store, snack bar, gas station & purchase our canopy tour tickets here. Our contact at the main desk was Hailey. She is a WONDERFUL host/first impression for the entire area! Extremely knowledgable, helpful, full of recommendations and an overall pleasant person. Each time we stopped by, she would check in with us and ask about our adventures. Make certain that you stop by the center to pick up a box lunch. It's a perfect meal in-between hikes.

Well equipped and roomy relaxing cabins. Staff very nice and helpful. Nice rest stop on our trip to see Arkansas. We rented " Valley Dream" and would do so again. Kitchen was well equipped. Champagne was a nice touch though a little drier would have been better.

We came to Ponca a yeast Agassi and had so much fun we had to go back. We received another great cabin. Very clean and nice. All of the people working at the outdoor center were very helpful on our trip. We took a 3 day 2 night canoe trip down buffalo river. They shuttled our vehicle with no trouble at all. Everything was like it was supposed to be! The trip was so worth it. The river is so clean and clear. Small rapids just enough to keep you interested. Great scenery. Keep it clean. Just remember if headed this way they have no alcohol or cigarettes in this very small town of 13. The store should have everything else you may need but you will pay. Same for gas. So tank up bring what you need. And then check out there little store for the rest. If going down the river do your research and know what you need to bring. They have list on the buffalo outdoor website. So check in and check it out! Loved it and will definitely be back. This time I guess well take the kids. Lol

We usually stay at Big Cedar on up the road in MO but decided to give this place a try. Glad we did. Our Cabin for 2 was very nice. Jacuzzi tub and nice shower. Large fireplace that came in handy as it got below freezing during our stay in late March. Everything you need in a kitchen with very nice items to use. They had a nice in the wall by the bed AC/heater unit. Our deck had a great view of the valley and surrounding mountains (and downtown Ponca in the distance) with a swing and rocking chair. Plenty of wood for the fireplace (not sure who cuts and dries the wood but they do a great job) and everything was very clean. Great bed (we are picky) and couch to set on in front of the fireplace. Yes--no TV but they do have a good selection of DVDs to borrow from their store for the player. (hint--if you have a portable XM radio, be sure to take it) Our cabin did have cell service and wifi (go figure). Our cabin was very private (can not get that at BC) and we did checkout a few others--so they do have a nice selection of choices. The main office and general store had great staff to assist and answer questions about the area. They had a good selection of items in their store. We did not rent a canoe this trip--since we did a lot of hiking--but they were busy and seemed to have a nice selection of equipment for the river. Check in and check out was easy. We will be back!

Room Tip: Check out their website for details and location of the cabins.
