Mike Mills says the Buffalo Natl River is like a little piece of Heaven. I believe he's 100% correct. Even though it rained the entire time we were there, it was heart-filling fun that restores the soul. The mist rising up out of the valley was breathtaking from the cabin's front porch. The views of the Ozarks will linger in your memory. We drove over to Jasper, had a super lunch, and picked up some things we forgot at the Dollar General. Rent a cabin & canoes from the BOC. You won't be disappointed. Ask the friendly staff to give you suggestions if you don't canoe. They are more than happy to assist you. The hiking is world-class as are the photo opps. Your bucket list won't be complete until you add a two-day stay at a BOC mountaintop cabin!

Room Tip: The Mountaintop cabins seem to be the more preferred. But, you won't go wrong with any of the BO...

My family and I just returned from staying at the "BOC" and I can't say enough about our experience! From first meeting the wonderful staff at the office to our beautiful cabin (Mountain Magic) with the wonderful view! Such friendly & helpful staff and great amenities! We will definitely return to stay at the BOC whenever we can! Well worth the drive and money we spent to have such wonderful family memories. Stay with the BOC in Ponca Arkansas, you won't regret it!

Glenn, we are so very glad you loved being here and we enjoyed having you! And thank you for taking a few moments to write such a nice review. On behalf of Mike, myself and the BOC gang, thank you for spreading the word about BOC and, most of all, the one, the only Buffalo National River!

We stayed at the Buffalo Outdoor Center in the Arkansas Cabin for my husband's birthday. It was amazing! The cabin sits on a bluff overlooking the Buffalo River area and it is secluded and romantic. This trip was a spur-of-the-moment getaway for us and since it was a last minute reservation, the center waived the two night minimum stay policy since we only had one night to be away from home. They were eager to help me get the right cabin and make our visit awesome! They had a bottle of champagne waiting when we arrived. The cabin is beautiful with a fully equipped kitchen. The huge fire place is a nice touch, especially since it was January and cold outside. The bedroom is nice with a king sized bed with extra comfy linens. We grilled steaks on the provided grill then spent the rest of the evening in the hot tub! That was the best part! It was a clear, crisp night and the stars were brilliant! We saw several shooting stars which only added to the magic of the evening. We will definitely be back!!!

Wow---what can we say?!? We sincerely thank you for your feedback and for helping folks appreciate how wintertime can be a splendid time to enjoy the Buffalo National River. It is oftentimes an overlooked season, but is actually one of our favorites and we're glad you think so, too! It's truly one of the wilderness' finest hours with the ability for hikers to see things they otherwise might miss during times of heavy leaf foliage. So, good for you for departing from the norm and coming for this season of special beauty---and thank you for choosing us as "home base" for your getaway!

My husband & I just returned from our weekend in the mountains & it was PERFECT! We rented a romantic secluded cabin and it was everything we could have imagined. They even had a bottle of champagne chilling for us upon our arrival. The cabin was every bit of luxury like it was described & had everything we could have possibily needed, even a towel warming rack! The view from the balcony was breath-taking! The staff there was extremely knowledgable & directed us to all the area attractions/sights. The mountains were truly majestic & the Buffalo Outdoor Center was the perfect place to see them. We will DEFINITLEY be going back and telling everyone we know!!!!

My new wife and I had a intimate wedding ceremony at one of the BOC cabins with a beautiful view of the valley below. The staff and owners of BOC were incredibly helpful and responsive in making our ceremony a success. Everyone in attendance loved the location for the view and the beautifully built cabin. Having stayed at several of the BOC cabins over the years, I can attest to that the staff and owners have consistently been excellent in helping guests and keeping top notch cabins. I would recommend BOC to anyone looking for a no hassle, no fine print, and stress free get-a-way.

Room Tip: Book well in advance to get your choice of location and ammenities. If you wait till the week before...

The staff and the hospitality they provided made my stay here worthwhile! My boyfriend and I rented a two bedroom cabin deep in the Ozark mountains. Everyday we stopped by the main office to speak with the staff about recommended hikes and popular sites to see. The cabin was very cozy and clean. We were able to enjoy a home-cooked meal on our front porch each evening after a long day of hiking and biking. It was a great trip made possible by the friendly staff and great location of the cabins.

My husband and I are regular visitors to the Ponca-Jasper-Boxley area, but we normally stay in Jasper with one of our favorite innkeepers, Joseph at the Arkansas House. This time we wanted a cabin experience, and found the Buffalo Outdoor Center through a web search, as well as seeing ads in various magazines. And are we ever glad we found it! We stayed in the Mountain Ecstasy cabin, which is on the top of the most beautiful mountain, with views that go on for miles. The cabin is perfectly designed for a couple; rustic log-cabin construction, with a magnificent porch that runs the entire width of the house, and overlooks the valley. Then you open the door to go in, and it's a luxury suite - gorgeous plank floors, a huge fireplace, a wonderful carved king-sized bed, a large Jacuzzi tub, comfortable living room furniture, a fully-equipped modern kitchen with pub-height table and chairs, and a very spacious bathroom with a fantastic slate shower with a rain shower head. It was chilly when we were there, so we took full advantage of the fireplace, keeping a roaring fire going almost the whole time we were there. There are leisurely walks as well as challenging hikes right out your door, and do NOT miss the canopy tour - a zipline trip through the 30-40 ft. treetops. The BOC staff members who conducted our tour were Tracy and Laura, both so helpful and friendly that they put everyone at ease at the very beginning of the tour (and it was the first zipline for all of us). Since we were there in November we didn't have a chance to take any of the float trips; they offer canoes, kayaks, and rafts, and we definitely will be doing that when we go back in the spring. They offer cabins of all sizes, from our couple-sized one to up to 8 guests, and valley cabins as well, but take a mountaintop one - you can't miss those views.

Room Tip: Go for the luxury cabins on the mountaintop.
