Terrible pesticides fogging

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed May 17, 2019
We were blasted out of our room at 5pm due to horrible pesticide fogging around the entire hotel. Our children were coughing and covering their faces and eyes burning. It was toxic, disgusting and totally unnecessary. The hotel has no idea how to protect from mossies and needs to get up to date with their idea of proactive insect control. Will never come here again.

Stayed here last week in a pool access room , totally worth the small amount to upgrade. Loved everything about the hotel , staff are amazing room was great. Breakfast had everything you could want and the coffee was great and free flowing. Also a easy 10 min walk along the side of the monkey Forrest takes you right on to Monkey Forrest Road .On check out staff were keen to find out if we felt any improvements could be made to hotel, I think keep doing what you are doing its a great welcoming place to stay we will be back 😎

This hotel can be great but during our stay they were fogging and the poison came into our room with children.
This happened 2 times!!!
I tried to explain that it’s poison and that it doesn’t work.
They told me it was the law which is untrue as I know many resort owners in Bali that don’t fog as they know it doesn’t work and makes guests feel sick.
Please stop fogging as it kills everything around.
Educate the staff to stop mosquito breeding grounds and that will eliminate most of your mosquitoes.
Do not stay here unless you want to be poisoned.

Dear valued guests,

Thank you for your feedback and advice.
As you may aware that Ubud is consider as jungle, hilly and wild area with higher humidity compare to other area in Bali, means that we are too close to the nature and its creatures. Hence regular treatment to control the creatures population is important. It is not carried our every day but only once a month, or twice a month during rainy season.
The announcement will be shared to our valued customer a day before, which is more than enough time for you to prepare yourself to avoid fog coming in into your guest room or you can even plan your day in advance to go out of resort in order to avoid it.
However we appreciate your concern.

Been to bail plenty of times and stayed in many different hotels and this hotel by far is the WORST I have ever stayed.

it has now been almost month since a holiday was ruined by this hotel .. my children my youngest being 5 years old had there eyes and throats burnt.. by insecticide that filled our room with no warning yes burnt... we ended up in hospital and even though I was emailed that I will get refund IM STILL WAITING!!

here is there email.

Please accept our most sincere apology regarding the fumigation process this evening which make you and family feel inconvenience. Continuing your previous conversation with one of the Manager in our hotel, i will continue your request of refund your payment and other personal bill balance. In this case i would like to inform you that the process will submit to our site office on Monday due close on the weekend day.
I hope this email finds you well and will get back to you for further information.
Thank you for your understanding and kind attention.

.....Perhaps I should share the video of my kids screaming with wet towel over the faces trying to stop the poison burning them!! or of you staff franticly installing temporary fans in our room to disperse the poison??

Dear valued guests,

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us,
We carry out the fumigation treatment periodictly as one of our standard operational procedure. Written information placed in every guest room, in the case of our customer missed to read it we still do personal approach by phone call as well as direct approach to our valued guest to ensure you are aware on it before the treatment started.
It should not be happened the fog coming in into guest room if all the instructed procedure followed.
We have gather all input both from our team member as well as from our CCTV monitor and discovered that all procedure has been well done. You ignored it by open the door and step out from the room right when the treatment started.

This was such a lovely hotel to stay in. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were really spacious and clean as was the bathroom. It’s location was perfect too as it was in a quiet area incredibly close to the monkey forest and not far from a busier area with lots of restaurants and bars.

The rooftop terrace was gorgeous and had wonderful views as you can see from my photos. It was a great spot to watch the sunset. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in the resort's 2-bedroom villa with my family, for an entire week. It was absolutely divine! We're from Los Angeles and had the most wonderful time in Ubud. I work in a hotel in Beverly Hills and I've stayed in several hotels, resorts and AirBnb as well. Ubud Wana Resort is definitely one of the best!! The warm welcome we had from the staff was truly genuine - it was incredible how a gracious smile from the guest service associates can go a long way! Niko went out of his way when I asked him about bamboo straws. He anticipated my needs and provided me with the phone number without me asking for it! Now that's thoughtful service! Breakfast was equally wonderful. We enjoyed the variety, especially the local dishes. We had a private pool that my 6 yr old daughter absolutely loved! Housekeeping staff did a great job maintaining the cleanliness of the pool, rooms and bathrooms. The resort is just a few steps away from The Sacred Monkey Forest which is very convenient. The resort provides free shuttle to Ubud Center, about 20 minutes away. I highly recommend staying with them!!
