Villa Beji Indah is a truly magical resort and we would highly recommend it. So much so that we extended our stay there despite having a 5 star accom booked in Nusa Dua. We were 2 Aussies travelling with a 2 and a half year old, and Bali is the 63rd country that we have travelled to and Villa Beji Indah would be the nicest resort that we have ever stayed at.
Like many of you reading this, before we left home we were deciding on either rice paddy views or rain forest views and we are really happy that we chose VBI with its amazing rainforest views since you end up seeing a lot of rice paddies when you are walking around town anyway.
The Villa is built in a stunningly beautiful rainforest garden that slopes down to a river. The rooms are all freestanding Bali designed houses so we always felt like we were the only ones staying there. Our room actually opened up to overlook the rainforest which was amazing. I'm sure this place could win awards for the beautiful landscaping and house designs which have indoor outdoor capabilities to make you feel like you are truly sleeping in a rainforest.
The main pool is absolutely divine with an infinity edge overlooking the river. Actually there was also a second pool which we only discovered on the last couple of days since the Villa itself is so huge. Make sure you explore all the Villa before you leave.
The staff were so nice and friendly especially with our 2 year old. Balinese love kids and both the male and female staff were fantastic with our child and looked after her while we both had a massage together.
This is really a fantastic place to be on a retreat or romantic holiday and the accomodation is so well spaced apart that it also suits families as well as you barely notice other visitors staying there.
One of the other reviews mentioned that the rock stairs were steep and slippery for their child, but our 2.5 year had no problems at all.
The room we had called Cempaka was beautiful with both aircon and ceiling fan but we never used the aircon at all. The rooms all had electronic mossie prevention so we never saw any mosquitoes in the room. Also our room was able to receive the free wifi which was also important to us.
The common eating area is also really impressive overlooking the rainforest. One regret we had was that we only ate dinner at the Villa once on the night we arrived. Their grilled chicken was delicious but we wanted to try other places to eat but no other meal we had in Bali was as nice as VBI so we wished we ate there more than once.
The other thing we were concerned about was how close to town to stay. I am happy to say that VBI is close enough to walk and far enough away to feel like you have escaped the manic main streets and it was such a relief to get out of the centre at the end of the day.
There is a small pathway just on the outside of the Monkey Forest that makes it really easy to get into town. It's about a 10-15 min walk, but we chose to get a motor bike which was so liberating. Our 2.5 year old loved it. There is a motorbike hire just south of the Monkey forest and it only cost us $4USD per day, or get yourself push bikes.
Getting a taxi costs around the same just for one way since they have to go around the long way so try and get your own transport. I wouldn't recommend walking the long way around as it is too hot and the road is too busy. This is the way cars have to go though.
I cannot recommend this Villa highly enough and if I am in Bali again I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Awesome!
