“Nice way to see the Arkansas River”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

We went on the lunch cruise, and had a very enjoyable time! The staff and crew were very friendly and helpful. Lunch was simple but yummy (two kinds of barbecue, potato salad, coleslaw, giant oatmeal raisin cookie, iced tea and water). The tour lasts for about 90 minutes, during which you are paddled up and down a stretch of the Arkansas River. Have a meal, enjoy the sights, chat with the other passengers, and absorb the experience!

“open cans, call it a dinner cruise”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2012

I just went on an evening cruise on this boat. Here in the heart of America, where fresh vegetables can be purchased right cross the river at the farmers market, here in the heart of the growing season, the Arkansas Queen "chef" opens cans of corn and green beans and calls it dinner. I call it garbage. Tacky decorations, long lines for drinks and long delays in serving - They shoved our group of 100 into one tight space with another group while leaving the whole upper deck empty to minimize their efforts while squeezing us in like sardines. The music wasn't exactly great either. It is a beautiful cruise though, on the Arkansas River. I am glad the boat is there but the ownership is bad. The staff couldn't have been nicer and none of this is their fault.

“Enjoyable!”

Enjoyed the Arkansas Queen on a beautiful night! Very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the evening. Bar was well equipped and staff helpful. Dinner was standard buffet fare - good have been better!

“Loved the cruise”

The food was great and so was the scenery, and there was plenty for the kids to do, they even played bingo and won captain hats.

“Arkansas Riverboat Lunch & Sightseeing Cruise”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2011

Let me start from the beginning with a brief itinerary of event: we called to make reservation for 2 for a Saturday lunch cruise from 12:00 - 1:30pm (lunch for Saturday only, or dinner for Fri/Sat) - no issue on that. Ms Dana was nice to email me the direction and menu.

We arrived around 11.30am as instructed for boarding on Saturday. There were 2 lines at the check-in, served by 2 different agents. We stood there and waited patiently for our turn, and when our turn came, the agent who was supposed to be serving us told us to go over to the other line served by Ms Roberta, and the she herself just walked away. At that time, there was already a line of people waiting for Ms Roberta to serve them, and so we all just had to move over to the other line and waited for our turn, again. Seriously, this is bad customer service in my opinion, although I supposed the boat could not leave until everyone waiting in line is checked in.

After getting our ticket, we were directed to wait for our pictures to be taken, and then to go onboard the boat and to the dining area. We walked in, not knowing what to expect, and was directed to our table by our server. She was pleasant, but drinks were not served at this time, not even a glass of water, unless you get something from the cash bar.

They boat left dock promptly at 12noon, and they started serving food about 15 minutes after.

Food was decent, with shredded beef, pulled pork, buns, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, and a big cookie. Note that the cookie was served after they came to pick up your plate, and that you could only go through one round of the buffet table.

No entertainment except for captain's narration along the way, and soft music in the background, which is adequate for such a short trip. Lunch was over in less than an hour, so we had some time to walk to the top decks and enjoy the river cruise.
