“HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

The house has alot of charm and it's position is nicely placed just a couple of blocks from the main area. It's enjoyable to be in a neighbourhood rather than stuck among the other tourists. Leonard and Debbie are very attentive and serve up a delicious breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. We really enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs lined along the porch. We left behind some items - and they were happy to send them back to us.

This B & B is awesome, the owners alone make this place! You feel so at home, it is spotless and you are waited on by Debbie, hand and foot! She makes you feel like you are one of the family! Leonard cooks up a big spread for breakfast and does a fantastic job..and like they say after you eat all that, you won't have to eat again until supper time!! We so enjoyed our stay here and plan to go back. The bedrooms are so comfy to accommodate whatever size party you have, after all a good clean bed, a good nights sleep and then you are off to the square...within walking distant! If you are going to Mt. View this is the place to stay. We have made new Christian friends with them, as well as the other guest! I could go on and on...you just have to experience it yourself!!

The new owners of Ozark Country Inn B & B - Leonard & Debbie Jadrich - have spruced up the old place, making it a desirable place to stay while visiting Mountain View. They were welcoming and hospitable, offering suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Homemade cookies and trail mix are available all day and Leonard whips up a breakfast for an army - bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, grits, biscuits, fried potatoes, fruit (and more!) - all served family style. No need to eat again until dinner.

The rooms are smallish, but clean as a whistle, nicely decorated, and air-conditioned. Each room has a private bath and cable TV (but who needs that when in Mountain View?). Many of the upstairs rooms have a door out to the wrap-around porch, shared with other guests. Rates at this B & B are more reasonable than other B & B's in town, making it a good value. We paid $85 for a queen bedded room with porch access.

The Ozark Country B & B is a two minute walk from town, where bluegrass and gospel music is performed most evenings. Mountain View is in the Arkansas Bible Belt, which is evident both in town and at the B & B. The county is also "dry" --- sweet tea is the drink of choice.

Cody's Family Restaurant on Rt 14 in Fifty Six (12 miles NW of Mountain View) serves an delicious catfish platter complete with "Ozark caviar" and maple syrup for sweet potato fries dipping. Our waitress, Rita, was very friendly and the other patrons (all local) enjoyed chatting with us. Be sure to try the fried pie with ice cream.

The new owners made us feel at home and were friendly without being intrusive. The rooms are small as expected in this vintage B&B, but were comfortable and in good condition. Close enough to the square for covenience, but far enough to have a more restful atmosphere. Overall a good choice.

Room Tip: The floors are pretty creaky so I would avoid the downstairs room.

This B&B in a home built in 1906 was quite cozy--when we arrived in the evening, we found a note on the door directing us up to room #4, and the front door was always open so that guests could come and go as they pleased. Our room was small and a little difficult to navigate in; however, it had central air, a door out onto a porch/balcony with rocking chairs, and a comfortable bed. The Inn provides soap but not shampoo or other toiletries, so make sure to pack yours. Breakfasts were served promptly at 8am, family-style, with guests passing dishes around and the host or hostess pouring coffee. Traditional country food--grits, biscuits & gravy, eggs and sausage, fried potatoes (very good!), and pancakes on Sunday.
The Inn is an easy 3-block walk from the Square, where informal music groups were playing every night we were there.
