Description: Enjoy a delicious meal in the rustic warmth of Mather Lodge's main dining room. Large windows frame the view of rugged Cedar Creek Canyon, scenery highlighted each evening by a dramatic sunset. A meeting room (50-person capacity) that can also accommodate small banquets is nearby. This recently renovated portion of Mather Lodge mirrors the 1930s Adirondack-style architecture of the original portions of this historic treasure that were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, and expanded by the Works Progress Administration. The main dining room seats up to 104 persons. The restaurant is open daily.

“Birthday Lunch”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

Planned an outing for our family to celebrate our Mother's birthday (82nd). Overall was disappointed in food & service. There were about 15 of us and could not seat us all at one
table or move tables.

Service was slow. Had to ask for tea refills, check etc. Food--Probably the best thing was
the daily special. My son and I had club sandwiches and the bread (wheat and white) was not
fresh.

Waitresses did not ask if we wanted desert. When I asked about desert she listed a splenda
desert and I replied I called up here a couple of days ago to the restaurant and ask if you had any deserts sweetened with Splenda and was told "No". Mom is diabetic. Her response was that the guy at the reception area of the restaurant wouldn't know that????

With such a beautiful location and lodge, service and food quality needs to be improved.

“Fathers Day Outing”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We had an enjoyable Fathers Day breakfast at Petit Jean/Mather Lodge. The food was good and the view is beautiful. After breakfast we took the trail to the waterfall. We plan to return this fall when the leaves are changing and more water is flowing. Overall, it was a great day.

“Nature boost”

Stayed in the lodge three nights. Will return when falls have more flow. Nice visit in all regards. Food very good. BTW: Avoid "Outpost" deli/store nearby. Poor attitude, quality and high prices.

“Exqusite yet family friendly eating experience.”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

A definite treat not only to the taste buds, but to the eyes also. The architecture, somehow they pull together this beautiful sophisticated yet still very rustic decor that seems to flow right out of the beautiful Petit Jean Mtn. Did I mention that the food is to the standard of gourmet, however much more filling than your typical over priced "pretty" gourmet meal. A definite treat after a long day hiking and the many other outdoor activities they have to offer.
