Review of Bygone Times

Bygone Times
Reviewed December 29, 2012

Been a few times now and each time find something exciting to buy for my vintage collection . The price to get in is £2.50 but that gets you a card to admission for life to bygone and botanny bay. There is something for eveyone , antiques , collectables, , tv memorabilia, war time memrobillia , jewlery , bags , furniture , books , mags, toys. etc
There's also lots of stuff on the way round including life size tardis, ghost trail, air raid bunker, an old arcade and a little cafe which doesn't have most fantastic food but good for the price and place that it is .
Give it a go but allow your self a good few hours if not a day to go round it . Though Toilets could with a refurb.
Note there is a ramp leading up to top floor but lower ground only accessible by steep stairs .

Please dont be put off by the rough and ready car park and the one off entrance payment (you can become a card carrying member and get free entrance for return trips). From the minute you walk in to Bygone times you will find yourself saying 'ooh my nan had one of those' and 'I remember them!'. You'll find a mixture of antiques, collectables, books, toys and clothes. If you like the latest gadgets and minimalist design then you wont like Bygone Times. On the other hand if you like spending hours rummaging through old books, love finding a bargain then this place is for you. I have found a coat from Warehouse for £15, on the internet it was priced at £80. That's just one example! Bargain hunting can leave you feeling peckish, luckily there is a cafe on site. The only negatives I can think of are the car park (not big enough and full of pot holes) and the toilets ( in need of a refurb). Bygone Times also hold ghost hunts and through out the building there are signs pointing out where spirit activity has been noticed. So give Bygone Times a chance and see what bargains you can find.

Having parked at the back I noticed a doorway into a showroom of second-hand furniture. I was firmly directed to the 'main entrance' where I was asked to pay an admission charge of £2.50. I went straight back to my car and left.
