Owner description: At Chiloétnico we seek to offer different experiences for those traveling with us. Nature, local culture and people are the key factors in our tours, in addition to promoting physical activity and a friendly relation with the environment through the use of bicycles as transportation. We invite you to explore pristine landscapes of the island so the nature can leave a mark on you, without leaving yours on it.

You never know how the weather will turn out, and during our stay in Castro, Juan definately made it brighter. We went for a guided tour to the churches of Quinchao, and Juan turned out to be a super guide. He has great knowledge about local building techniques, culture and fauna, so it was great to have him introduce it to us.

The owner has great knowledge of the area. He picks fruit off the trees for you. PIcks up moss and gets deep down with the knowledge. He freaked (in a good way) when he saw a rare bird. Fed us an amazing lunch at a house (very cool and good)! The man speaks three languages: English, Spanish, German. And lastly, he replys to emails fast and answers all questions! This is a great guide company. Good man.

Juan Pablo is a great guy and Tour Operator. He is a very good guide, professional, helpful and with a variety of tours to chose from. I contacted him through email and he arranged a trip in a very short notice.

The experience is well worth it, from the small bus and the scenic routes to the restaurant choices. You can ask almost anything, Juan Pablo is well educated in almost everything Chiloe!.

Highly recommended, and you can save yourself some time by contacting him in advance.

My wife and I spent a full day with Juan Pablo and also went on a bike ride that he arranged. Juan Pablo is a wonderful person and an excellent tour guide whose company you will enjoy. Not only does he know the island of Chiloe well, his English is nearly perfect, and as an agronomist, he knows everything about the agriculture industry in the island, which is important because it is the main driving economic force of the island (although, I expect tourism will catch up to it).

Our first day with Juan Pablo was spent touring the churches and an introduction to the island. We learned a lot, saw plenty of churches, and ate at an excellent local restaurant. This theoretically could be done with a rental car, which we had, but we were very happy we hired Juan Pablo because we would never have learned so much without him.

The second trip we took through Juan Pablo was a bike ride across the island to the national park on the pacific coast. The bike ride is 40km, which we completed in about 3 hours. For bike enthusiasts, this is a must. The rolling hills of Chiloe are a bikers dream, and we loved this activity. Juan Pablo's bikes are in good condition. We ate at a small, family operated restaurant at our destination which was excellent and then took a short hike through the park to the beach. Great day.

If you are thinking about hiring a tour guide, look no further than Juan Pablo! He can take you on many other amazing sounding trips, and I get the feeling he can customize exactly what you want. If we go back, we will most certainly be in touch with Juan Pablo.

Hey, Juan Pablo, post some photos of yourself and your operation here!! I will add mine, but we forgot to take one together!
