My only problem was that my husband's teacup was dirty but in the moment they put it on the table, the waitress noticed it and changed it immediately.

As another reviewer says, this one's a gem. The coffee was very good, sandwiches were outstanding from fresh local ingredients, the view and location excellent, service really good though slow as they put so much into each order, and the hot chocolate was one of the best ever. We were staying in another part of Castro in a palafito with a breakfast included but we drove here twice just because it was so good. The only downside for us was a lunch we had there during which another couple with young kids was there and letting them run loose. When the mom gave the boy her husband's wallet to play with, I realized this was going to get messy, but it was the piano duet that got to me. Not sure what the proprietors could've done, but parents: get a grip. This isn't doing the kids any favors either! But this is a risk for a place that sits among palafitos and B&Bs that attract yuppie families.

This little cafe, in one of Castro's famed palifitos, is truly a gem. the location is unique and the food is wonderful. The menu is not extensive but what is there is all homemade and freshly prepared. We enjoyed our quality breakfast in a clean and well thought out atmosphere.

Ate here on our last night in Castro. Del Puente doesn't pretend to offer complicated evening meals and we weren't after anything elaborate. One look at the menu, though, showed the seriousness with which they approach what they do offer. The range of teas was startling. Cakes and scones were on offer. A Ritz-style tea with sandwiches and cakes was on the menu, too. We had delicately spiced warm chicken salad baps. They were just what we were after. Orange juice was freshly squeezed but seemed diluted. My pot of tea - made with proper leaves in an infuser - was the best so far in Chile.

Nice little coffee. The hot chocolate was fantastic and perfect for the rainy day. We had the scones and were delicious. The service is a little slow, but ok for the south of Chile.
In the second floor is a bright and beautiful bed room( big bedroom)
Great place to stay and take breakfast or coffee time.
