The reception area is very welcoming with plenty of comfortable seats. Good restaurant with reasonable prices and decent food. I had the merluza, a generous serving. Staff are helpful particularly the receptionist. Downside is the rooms are very basic but comfortable. The room I had warmed up with the afternoon sun and remained too hot to sleep in. Only one small window for ventilation and no air flow. Might be a good set up in winter but uncomfortable in summer.

We stayed here 2 nights around a backpacking trip in Cerro Castillo and found El Reloj to be a great bookend. Location is a close walk to the central plaza, but is off main commercial streets. Great view of the reserva nacional coyhaique across the river canyon from the restaurant area (food at restaurant is also quite good). Comfortable beds as well.

For the money, I don't think many people would be disappointed with this hotel. Located close to the center of Coyhaique, but quietly tucked away. A wonderful view of a canyon and the Reserva on the other side. Good food in the mornings. A very pleasant common area to sit, read, write, talk. Comfortable rooms. Very pleasant and professional staff who greeted us warmly and like old friends on arrival. We stayed for several nights and would gladly come back the next time in Coyhaique.

This hotel has a family feeling and has a good restaurant and a nice backyard to hang in after a day out. Rooms are ok and big. Warm water and enough space to stay in your room.
The dining room is clear and bright from the big windows. Friendly staff where most speaks English.

My fishing friend and I stayed at El Reloj after a week at Magic Waters fishing lodge. Eduardo Barrueto at the lodge recommended the stay. We believe he must have wanted to match the excellent service we received at Magic Waters for our last night in Chile, and he did. The hotel is filled with old world charm and simple graces. At check in the manager of the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. We went to our room which had a queen and a twin, but the manager felt it was too small for us given our luggage (lots of fishing gear) and moved us to a much larger room at his own suggestion. We spent an hour relaxing in the cool shaded garden overlooking a beautiful mountain vista. After a couple hours of fishing in a local river we were delighted with a fantastic dinner in the restaurant. The lamb chops were very good. They offered chicken dishes for simple pallets, many types of seafood, and beef. The next morning the included breakfast was more than satisfying (multiple types of bread, a few cereals, meats and cheeses, coffee, etc). The desk reserved a taxi to the airport for us at prices cheaper than we were told they would be (saved $20). Our luggage was held for us in a locked room between check out and the taxi. At every turn we were treated with kindness, respect, and genuine care. One of our new friends from the fishing lodge spoke absolutely no spanish. He chose to stay in another hotel. When he couldn't even check in because of his lack of the language, he came to ask our help. The manager at the hotel called the other location for my friend and set everything up for him. The beds were comfortable, the views beautiful, the showers hot and spacious, and the cooling breezes from the Patagonian mountains refreshing. From beginning to end, it was perfect for us.
