“Nice place to stay, but they have some strange regulations!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2012

We stayed two days in that hospedaja, which was very nice. There are some strange regulations about the use of the kitchen. Fill your water bottle costs you $CL 200 (so just fill it up in the shower). We would understand that, if there is a water problem, but we are in Patagonia! Use of the kitchen costs, use of dishes costs, use of microwave costs .....
If you don't want to cook by yourself it is absolutely OK.

I hitchhiked into town without a notion where to stay. This was the second place I walked into. At first the price seemed steep at 8000 with no breakfast, but at second thought I understood you get a private room and not a dorm. Other places were 10000clp with breakfast
The room is a bit small but cozy; bed big and comfortable for a single; tons of blankets as there's not heating in rooms. plenty of storage place. The hospedaje is pleasant enough and with a homely design; people running it seemed very nice thought don't speak English. Place is very clean and cleaned daily. Two bathrooms on my floor, but only one has an actual bath/shower.
All things concerned it could have been a great stay and highly recommend if not the following: You have to pay for kitchen rights, 2000 per day and if not there's a ridiculous list of charges: filling up water bottles; using dishes; using the microwave;boiling water etc'. I felt so embarrassed I didn't even eat downstairs out of fear I will be billed for leaving crumbs. I only ate in my room including boiling water in my cup. basically you have to pay 2000 to have breakfast that doesn't include much, and/or another 2000 to cook. That alone really spoiled my stay nd left me with a bad taste. I was very comfortable though so if the kitchen issue doesn't bother you, or you eat out during your stay - place is recommended.

The hostel was central to Coyhaique, although the city is not particularly big! The owners were friendly and tried to make our stay comfortable however there did seem to be a lot of charges for things that you would normally expect, such as filling up your water bottle from the sink!! The room was quite small although was comfortable and included a TV. The bathroom was shared and was clean. Overall the atmosphere of the hostel was pleasant and the owners were helpful.
