We just got back last night. The terrain is fantastic. Magnificient mountain. Better terrain than Portillo by far. We had abysmal weather for most of the trip, so look at the forecast. The lifts are pathetic. The main lift is diesel powered and was closed 4 out of 7 days. The rest of the hill serviced by what was open was ultra lame. I question the avalanche scrutiny as there were next to no markers on any of the trails indicating conditions. I skied in areas where there were recent slides and clearly some big snow waiting to come down, yet were open. USe our head and ask a local. ANyway, I can't say more about the terrain. It is an ultra fun mountain. Roller coasters all the way dawn. the hill has great potential. Someone invest and do this mountain up like a good hill in the interior of BC.

Tried a late season ski trip. there was lots of snow, but 120kph winds stopped skiing. There was a great spa at the hotel though, along with the thermal pools, and walking in the area though, so lots to do, along with the bar and roaring fire.

The first reviewer was correct though. It is more like 6-7 hour drive, best done with 4x4 and / chains in winter, as about 5 ish hours is motorway, and last 40kms (maybe less) not great road, and last few kms is unpaved (normal for national parks amd ski resorts in Chile)

I'm sure it's wonderful, but I was disappointed to discover it's not really in Santiago! You must go by vehicle or train for 4-5 hours, or take another flight from Santiago. Check the website well!
