“Fantastic food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2014

If you visit Old Perithia you must call in and eat at this Taverna. Great hospitality from Thomas and family and the food is absolutely beautiful. A welcoming tipple to start you off and the walnut cake for afters is to die for. Well worth a visit and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

“Authenic rural Corfiot food at its very best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014

A real delight to enjoy such a fabulous supper in such stunning surroundings. Tomas and his wife produce delicious rustic Corfiot food from locally produced and gathered ingredients, with a warm and generous welcome in the heart of the town square of beautiful Old Perithia, an abandoned hill top town in the north east of the island.

We chose a tasty selection of mezedes (the briam was divine), followed by aromatic meat and fish stews - the chicken pastistada (hearty pasta) and fish bourdetto were particularly delicious. Great local red wine to wash it down. All great value for money.

Thank you for a great evening - this is a real gem!

“Great Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014

We loved this little taverna in the partially abandoned village of Old Perithia. There are several tavernas to choose from as you wander around the village (you won't be the only ones here). We're glad we chose this taverna based on previous Tripadvisor recommendations. You can sit outside under a roof or inside at cute old tables with authentic memorabilia decorating the walls. As vegetarians, we ordered briam as our main dish. Everything we ate was wonderful, including bread and the house red wine. We topped it off with some yummy homemade walnut cake. All the food is fresh and prepared on site. The portions were large and the value was excellent. The owner is very friendly too. We can highly recommend this taverna based on our experience here.

“Nice bit of Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2014

Paleokastritsa is nice to visit, but do eat in Faros, it's not instant food as it is all cooked fresh but it is lovely, the homemade pies and the fish were lovely, a nice quaint little taverna.

“What a gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

We spent the last night of our holiday at Foros and what a brilliant night it was despite a drive up tricky mountain roads.
Tomas and his wife were most welcoming and we were surprised to get a shot of something strong even before we ordered. The menu was authentic Corfiot cooking and mostly made with home grown vegetables and salad, The onion pie, rooster with pasta were delicious as was the tope (a type of shark) in a tasty sauce.
Foros was almost full, by comparison the taverna immediately next door had no customers and two of the other three of the other hardly had any either. It was great to see there were Greek customers as well as a lot of Brits. Also the bill was about 20 Euro less than the restaurants on the local seafronts.
Brilliant place to eat, setting was great, food marvelous.
