The lobby is very beautiful and grand, great first impression. Only 20 minutes from the airport. Hotel and grounds very well maintained with mature vegetation and flora. Beautiful white sandy beaches. Lots of palapas on both the beach and pool areas. Rooms are well decorated with comfortable and clean beds. Maid service is top notch, tip them well and they will stock your fridge with plenty of water, which you will always need more of. Food is always good with a great variety and the Mexican and Steak restaurants were also very good. Lunches at the beach BBQ/restaurant was very good. The entertainment was good, especially the Michael Jackson tribute, well done. Bar staff in the lobby are the absolute best. People complaining are either picky or it was just a fluke, our second time around proved that it is a great hotel for your money. Plenty of shops on site, our favorite one was the cigar shop. Lots of shopping on the beach at the market about a 10 minute walk...Go to the bar there and get yourself a large Presidente cerveza for walking back to your hotel, you will enjoy that.
Do not hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed.

This resort is amazing in every way. The staff are on their game in every aspect. Alexander at the check in desk who helped us get to the room we requested as being returning guests (3rd time). The returning guest dinner was a very nice idea and we really enjoyed it. The star friends were great fun and the daily activities were great. Lois, bianny, Emilio, Carlos, victor, Joaquin , chocolate, cappuccino, edwardo and Maria. All were great fun and made our days eventful. Because of the people who work at this resort we will return and hope to see them there again next year for our 2 week stay. Duany in the buffet was great and always had our drinks waiting for us.

We had a fabulous trip to this hotel. At no point did I feel unsafe. It was very clean and comfortable. Food was plentiful, but not so tasteful. Pools were beautiful as well as the well maintained beach with plenty of seating and shade cabanas. I would seek out this resort in future trips and would highly recommend this resort to others

Just returned from a wonderful week (Feb. 1-8) with my husband, his brother, sister and their spouses. We are seasoned travellers and a pretty easygoing group. I recall some of the very negative reviews prior to leaving and after this week, I really don’t understand. This is a nice resort and certainly delivers good value for the money.

The good:
BEACH is beautiful.
FOOD was generally quite good. I am a bit of a health food nut and was pleased with the availability of grilled fish and various meats plus a nice salad bar with very fresh vegetables and varied lettuce. We ate at the Gourmet, Mexican and Grill (one by the beach). The grill one had very nice fish but the rest wasn’t very good for us. The Mexican was okay, but mainly tacos. The gourmet was our favorite; very nice lobster appetizer and a nice steak. Note that it is a fixed menu and there are no options.
ROOM was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable for us. Nice balcony. A bit older and could use some sprucing up but that is truly not important for us. The rooms are in a large complex (open in the centre); there are a few elevators as well as several sets of stairs. We had a beautiful view of the gardens leading from the lobby to the pool. One thing to note…we never heard any noise outside our room except for the last night; there were some rowdy folks in the hallways yelling and slamming doors. This is not a reflection on the resort, but just some folks that are inconsiderate.
SERVICE was very good. The Star Friends were so friendly and remembered us (as the famillia). We really like their personal touch. One of the evening shows was the circus. That was by far the best resort show we have ever witnessed. It was very impressive.
SPA was also very good. Two of us had massages and one had a reflexology treatment… all were fantastic and they were able to accommodate the three of us ladies at the same time, which was very nice for us.
GROUNDS are beautifully manicured and there are some cool flamingos, turtles, birds, koi, etc.
RESORT SIZE is great as it’s large enough to not feel crowded, but everything is a reasonable walk. We also saw a few golf carts for folks who may have physical challenges.
A HIGHLIGHT to note is that we were there for the Super Bowl and the resort has a great sports bar and did a bang up job on delivering a Super Bowl party. They delivered typical food (tacos, wings, fries, etc.), big screens and a great atmosphere. We felt that the resort really goes out of their way to entertain.

The less good: (there is truly no real bad or ugly in this one)
The front desk was not particularly unfriendly, but not particularly welcoming or extra friendly when we arrived. Our room was ready by 2:00.
The resort charges $2 a day for the use of a safe; this, in our view is cheap and lacks a bit of class.
The resort also charges for Wi-Fi… we purchased 5 days of which I was never able to get working and therefore used the PCs in the lobby, which for me was fine. That said, it seems a little much (again, not so classy), to charge for Wi-Fi in 2014.
The animator/announcer around the pool and during the evening shows was too loud (we stayed by the pool only the first day as it was too much for us). She is a lovely lady and quite energetic but we just found that she seemed to be yelling and it wasn’t necessary. Overall, the rest of the shows were just okay for us… we didn’t care for the style of their shows…a little cheesy for our tastes.
Our only other complaint of the trip would be that the other guests all reserve chairs around the pool and on the beach. By day two, we did the same thing, as we had no choice. Again, this is less a complaint about the resort but more of the folks that use it. This always annoys me… but alas, it seems to be the norm in some of these larger resorts.

We would definitely recommend this resort and would consider returning.

Room Tip: We liked our room location (4285). It was on the 3rd level but there was nobody above us in that section. There are four levels for most of the building.

6th time in Punta Cana and the Iberostar Dominicana was the best resort thus far. Clean rooms, beautiful beach, good food, and excellent entertainment especially Emilio Sexy Man. I Love You for Free!!

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor facing Caribean Street and was very quiet.
