“Nice food in the middle of nowhere”
Review of Renesans

Renesans
Ranked #2 of 3 Restaurants in Khust
Cuisines: Ukrainian
Description: Not only this is the best restaurant in Khust, it was nearly one of the best in the entire Transcarpathians area that we’ve been to in two weeks. Situated in the city centre, on the first floor of the Renesans Hotel building (ground floor is occupied by their coffee-shop). Quite an extensive menu with local cuisine dishes, including those specific for Transcarpathians only. Everything we ordered - some salads, Lamb Bograch soup (served in the pot on the fire), Chovlent and Transcarpathian Meat - was absolutely perfect. The portions were so generous, that were unable to try their deserts. Service was excellent, too. By no means shouldn’t be missed in Khust.

“Nice food in the middle of nowhere”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Dependibg on cora-v review i choosed to visit this restaraunt on my way from Uzhgorod to Chernovtsi.

First of all - food was delicious. We took meet plate, carpathian cheese plate, bograch soup, fish soup and 'myaso po zakarpatski' (meat in local style). All of that was very tasty.

There was some disadvantages too - music (trash russian pop) and service quality (sometimes waiting was too long).

Dinner for 4 without alcohol costs us 400 uah (40 eur).

“Shouldn’t Be Missed in Khust”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

Choosing a hotel in Khust, I was split between VIP and Renesans. The latter’s location on the central square of Khust didn’t look too appealing, and I opted for VIP. But we decided to at least check the Renesans restaurant, and if the entire hotel can be judged by it, then next time I’m staying in Renesans!

Not only this was the best restaurant we tried in Khust (in fact there were only two of them), it was one of the best in the entire Transcarpathians that we’ve been to in two weeks.

The restaurant is situated in the city centre, on the first floor of the Renesans Hotel. The ground floor is occupied by their coffee-shop, don’t get confused. They have a banquet hall with snow-white tablecloths and posh table appointments and the regular dining hall in red colours, with long tables and high sofas.

The menu is quite extensive, with local cuisine well represented, including the dishes specific for the Transcarpathian area only.

Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect! We started with salads, followed by delicious spicy Lamb Bograch Soup [it’s something like Hungarian Goulyash: meat soup or a stew with vegetables and spice]. It was served to everyone in a separate pot on the fire. For the main course, we ordered Chovlent (a meat baked in the pot with vegetables) and Transcarpathian Meat. All servings were so generous, that we were unable to try their desserts, although the dessert card looked very tempting.

The service was excellent, too: reasonably fast and attentive.

It is also possible to have breakfasts in Renesans even without staying here, but the kitchen only opens when the earliest hotel guests wish to have their breakfast.

If you stay in Khust or even drive by (say, to the Valley of Narcissi) and need a stop-over for a good lunch or dinner, Renesans restaurant shouldn’t be missed.
