We spent an amazing few hours with Reuben and Celia. Beautiful homage to old Goa with antiques and muslin curtains blowing in the breeze. Lunch on starched white tablecloths with bespoke crockery and cutlery. Possibly the best meal I’ve had in Goa, ever.

Before I describe my experience, just want to inform that you will have to book a table one day in advance as the meal is home cooked and they need to know how much food to prepare.

The food was amazing, starting with the Kokum and feni cocktail and the prawn croquets. For main course we had prawn curry, red snapper, crispy chicken, red rice and salad. For desert we had caramel custard and coffee.

Ruben is a warm and friendly host and, with his wife, he has painstakingly restored this heritage site whose historical background complements the already delightful culinary experience.

Beautiful place with interesting story of its famous resident followed by the most beautiful food imaginable. We have never had such amazing food and drink all made from their home grown produce. We never actually met Ruben's wife but she deserves all the praise in the world for her amazing cuisine.

Absolutely stunning property , Ruben gave us a tour of his home which him and his wife have lovingly restored . They have given attention to lots of details when restoring the property, the oyster shell window panes , the furniture , the gardens. His wife had cooked a fabulous meal , a 7 course lunch and every course was a delightful culinary experience.Ruben and his wife are wonderful hosts . Will definitely be going back again .
