First of all - The review is a little late! Sorry Jan! We stayed here for 4 days in Dec 2018. We have 3 small children (8, 4 & 1). I can honestly say Jan the owner could not have been anymore pleasant or done any more for us and made us feel like we were at home! The rooms were immaculate and spacious (Still spacious with 3 kids in). The breakfasts were great, and you got the feeling Jan would probably do anything you asked for that was slightly different to the menu. The beach is literally 50m away across the road and is beautiful with clear water ideal for swimming when the tide is in. Along the beach there are dozens of beach bars where you can laze around in the day, and then have an evening meal watching the unbelievable sunsets. We went in a fair few of the beach bars and I can say all served good food - Sunset Bar probably our favourite! What I found great was that there was no rush to get a seat in the evenings, you could turn up and sit down pretty much in any beach bar you wanted without the hassle of thinking 'will we get a table'. Daytime the beach was our own!

We are planning again to visit Jan and her husband later in the year we loved the place that much.

stayed here over a few nights in June. excellent sized room . fantastic view (sea view room) Quality furnishing and fabrics. Nice owners. Really reasonably priced. Will stay here again. Used the Sa-ing Beach bar on the beach opposite for Breakfast each morning and the Irish Bar a few doors up for dinner and evening drinks . So hotel is ideally placed for amenitities. Will stay here again

Room tip: Sea View . was my room . my friend had Mountian view - both were good (sea view better though)

I have stayed at Elephants End now on 3 different occasions, visiting friends in the area by myself, with my partner and with friends.
Its very friendly, good value, beautiful rooms very nicely decorated and the rooms at the front have a balcony with lovely seaviews.
The beach is so close as its across the road, theres a super beach bar called 'Sa Ing' where the food, drinks and service is great.
Also a couple of doors up is 'The Irish Embassy' likewise a super place to visit with lots to offer and all so handy from the guest house.
For guests wanting travel advise, motorbikes etc, they have it all here and also a little cafe on the ground floor.
Perfect, just book it !

At first we planned to stay at Elephants End for 4 nights and move to another hotel in the area/on some island, but we loved it and decided to stay for 4 more. We have checked nearby hotels - nothing compares (even more expensive) in terms of room (we had with king bed and additional bed. #2). As we took the room not facing the street it was quiet. Of course at hotel surroundings are nicer and some of them have pools, but when you see the room you will sleep in - we have not found anything like this room for even 2x the price.

As for attractions - you can rent motorbike at Elephants End and travel around. Lots of fun! Tiger's cave worth visiting and climbing. Just 10 minutes drive to Ao Nang and Krabi with shops and diving centers. You can also rent long tail boat and reach nearby islands from the beach near Elephants End hotel. Really worth 2500-3000 bahts for private long tail boat for a day.

Across the street there is quite good beach, but you need to check for the tides (fortunately internet is free at Elephants End). When the tide is low - the beach does not look like in exotic photos :) On some days we just rented motorbikes and travelled to Tub Kaek beach (really nice, 5km from hotel).

Staff was really friendly and helpful all the time. Only warmest memories from stay at this hotel.

Room tip: Rooms not facing street are really quiet at nights.
