“Wedding at Amari Vogue Krabi”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

Rodney & Yuli's wedding held at this beautiful venue was an extraordinary . We, as groom's parents were treated special by the staff . Staff remembered who were
wedding guests (40) and did everything to make us comfortable. They greeted us and apologised as room was not ready (we arrived early) supplying us with lovely room BUT then wanting us to move to the room they at designated after we said we were o.k. and the room they moved us to was even better with a special view looking out at the islands. Ben (Manager) and Buraform (staff) made every effort and were checking our every need. Wedding site and M arques, setting and food lovely. Even though it rained during day the rain stopped and lovely sunset. Dancing on the beach into the night. We will never forget the experience. Rather remote but 20 min. local town for day out. And we felt we didn't have to venture anywhere in the four days. Arrange a long Boat to Islands. This is great.

Room Tip: Request a view.

Dear Patricia T,

It was a great pleasure to have you all here with us at the Amari Vogue Krabi for your son's wedding. We are very pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and the wedding at our resort. We were very fortune that the rain just stopped a few hour before the wedding ceremony and that we even got a sunset that night.

Already now we are looking forward to welcome Rodney and Julie back for their anniversary and of course both of you and the rest of the family bu the next occasion.

Once again thank you very much for staying and celebrating at Amari Vogue Krabi and to share your experience.

Best wishes,

We stayed here for 2 nights to unwind after the long trip over from the UK. The hotel has a beautiful setting with excellent quality rooms which are very big, clean and comfortable. The series for pools which lead down to the beach are lovely where the views of Thailand's beautiful coastline can be taken in.

We used it as a starting point before heading out to some of the islands and we're disappointed. Would definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

We were looking forward to our visit to the Amari Vogue hotel for a whole year watching videos and reading the reviews.
What can we say... We were staying with our dear friend from Singapore and all our expectations were met from the time we arrived to the minute we left.
We arrived to a lovely greeting from the hotel staff and we were soon shown to our room, The room was not what we expected but after a quick conversation with the front desk that was soon put right without any fuss and we were given room 4404 which was super.
Yes the hotel is out of the way but that is in the description of the hotel in all the travel guides.
The hotel is a haven from the outside world and it makes you relax, taking advantage of its super pools and gardens and beach which is what a holiday is all about. The staff were always friendly and helpful from the breakfast room to the front desk staff and indeed all the staff we came across.
Michael is the hotel Manager and he is just the right person he is friendly and always around ensuring that everything is right for you. Thank you.. We enjoyed many Happy hours in the bar watching the magnificent sunsets over the islands.
The last two years we had been staying at the Rockys resort in Ko Samui so the Amari had a lot to live up too and although they are two very different resorts, well done Amari you did it......
We met some lovely people in the two weeks we were there from the UK and Australia you know who you are? thank you for making it a wonderful holiday. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Keep up the good work.
Best wishes for the future
Tim, Tim and Joseph

Until then we remain with best wishes,

I struggled with writing this review as my issues with the hotel had little to do with the actual hotel and more my personal tastes. Firstly the good bits, the hotel in general was well maintained and the staff were very friendly. The restaurants were of a decent standard, as was the spa. The pool area was good, with different types of pools (jacuzzi, paddle, swim) and the beach (at low tide) was great for long romantic walks. The highlight was defiantly sunset drinks (which they have a happy hour for) on the front deck. Krabi and in particular where the hotel is, is definitely not a tourist hotspot and all the better for it. However, we are a young couple who enjoy exploring the surrounding areas and unfortunately this hotel was just not quite right for us. Firstly, it is clear that the hotel is a family destination, which with children being children (which they have every right to be..) can ruin the tranquillity. Also, the hotel is remote, so unless you enjoy staying within the grounds (which are perfectly nice) and eating in the hotel restaurants (where you have limited choice), you have to take transport to anywhere. There is no local restaurants/night life within walking distance. So to sum up, if you want a decent family holiday, or want to just chill and relax in one spot without too much effort, than this is the place for you. However, if you are looking for tranquillity/ambiance or local culture/life, then perhaps this is not the hotel for you. I would rate this as a decent 4 star/mid budget hotel.

Room Tip: the hotel is on a steep slope, so the high up rooms mean plenty of steps to the beach.

Dear Dips75,

Thank you for your review. A great pleasure to read that you enjoyed the well maintained resort, the friendliness of the team, the restaurant, the spa, the pool area and the sunset drinks.

We do believe that you stayed with us in October during a school holiday. We do have in general not many children in the resort, but during one particular week, there were a few families from Europe, but also from Thailand and Singapore enjoying the beaches in Krabi. In general our resort is more suitable for couples, honeymooners and people, who are looking for a quiet and relaxing place. One need to know that we are remote, a 20 minutes away from the busy Ao Nang tourist center.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback and we do look forward to welcome you back in another time of the year.

Best regards,

We stayed at the Amari Vogue for (4) nights in October to attend the wedding of my friend. When we arrived to check in we were greeted by Michael the Manager which I think is just the perfect touch to your holiday, I told him that we had just left the Amari in Koh Samui so they had a lot to live up to, we were not disappointed. We had been upgraded to a Spa Room which was just out of this world, we could not believe how fortunate we were, I read in a previous review that the person claimed the staff at the spa were very rude which I just find very hard to believe as I had told Ben the Assistant Manager just before checking out of the Amari that the staff were an absolute credit to the hotel. We had a Seafood platter at the Restaurant on the beach and it was just delicious, we are from Perth and have some of the best Seafood in the world, and we were extremely happy with our meal. Breakfast in the morning is fantastic, heaps of choices. Try going to Hong Island on a long tail, we booked it through the hotel and had them make up lunch for us and really enjoyed it. It is a very peaceful hotel and just great for relaxing. The pool is nice and cold, and they also have happy hour, I also read in a previous report that the restaurant would not put tables together, we were a party of over 18 and there was no problem with the staff re-arranging for us to have one long table. Ben the Assistant Manager was always to be seen making sure that everyone at the resort were enjoying themselves. Would I return, you bet. We have now stayed at three Amari hotels, Krabbi, Patong and Koh Samui and loved every one of them. Happy holidaying.

Room Tip: We choose a Deluxe and were lucky to be Upgraded to a Spa Room.

We were looking forward to staying at this resort as we had read a number of positive reviews prior to booking which was what we based our decision on of where to stay, unfortunately it did not live up our expectations. The hotel does need a freshen up as it is looking quite tired, unfriendly & unattentive staff ( with the look of don't bother me plastered on their faces & some wouldn't even acknowledge you ) poor breakfast selection, the food at the Italian restaurant Bellini was awful ( the Thai restaurant was much better ). The resort is not really in a great location as far as easy accessibility to other restaurants, etc - requires transportation. The beach was okay, great view to other islands though & the lovely sunsets. The rooms are clean, spacious & comfortable. We have previously stayed at two other Amari resorts - Koh Samui & Phuket which are both wonderful and thoroughly recommend so the Amari Vogue was a BIG let down sorry to say. Hope that management make some necessary changes in order to improve the resort and bring it up to the Amari standard we have experienced. We stayed at two other resorts on this Thailand holiday where the friendly & welcoming staff made it a much more enjoyable stay.

Dear Robyn P,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We are very pleased to read that you enjoyed the rooms, the view from the beach and the lovely sunsets.

We are very disappointed to read that me and my team could not meet your expectations. Please accept our apologise about the dish at Bellini which was not to your taste. We did not charge you for that meal. Your comment about the friendliness of our team and the breakfast selection is very unusual as you can see from other reviews and other guest comments. The location is remote and isolated, but most of our guests are booking us based on this.

But please rest assured that your feedback is very important to us and that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problems and prevent future occurrence.

As you had great experience before with the Amari brand, we are sure to be able to welcome you back again to one of our hotels and resorts in Asia.

Kind regards,

My husband and I spent 5 days, 4 nights at the Amari Vogue in October. Despite the rain that we had every day of our trip we really enjoyed this little piece of heaven.

As others have written, this resort is far away from the masses - which for us gave us it's charm. We wanted to unwind, relax and disconnect from our busy lives, which is exactly what we were able to do.

Upon check-in we were greeted at the lobby with cold towels and welcome drinks. A very nice touch. We were then escorted to our room. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa with a plunge pool in the back and it was nothing short of incredible. The bathroom was huge, the sitting area perfect, the the bed extremely comfortable. I'd highly recommend the splurge to stay in one of these rooms. In the rain it gave us a nice haven in which to relax.

The Thai food at the resort is outstanding! As well as their breakfast buffet. We have travelled extensively throughout the world and have never had a better spread for breakfast than at the Amari Vogue. We can't hover say the same for the Bellini restaurant - it really does not belong at the Amari Vogue. We had a dinner on the beach one night cooked by Bellini and it was horrible. The presentation was really nice but every piece of fish, lobster, prawn etc. was raw and oozing on the plate. We could not even finish the dinner.

Although it rained 90% of the time we were there the views from Amari are breathtaking. The Hong Islands can not be captured with photos.. they are a must see. We were able to take a Long Tail Boat that was on the beach the one day that we had a slight break in the rain… the ride there was hectic but the beaches/sights were just stunning once we arrived.

We also did not let the rain stop us from hiking the National park next door. The first attempt at hiking turned out on a wrong path.. which Michael later told us was an obstacle course for a recent Thai competition! No wonder the trail ended at the water…
So if you are planning on hiking the park, follow the paved road all the way to the top. We also were able to this in the rain the day before we left. It's a strenuous hike and we had no view once we got to the top but were both proud that we did it! (Especially since I was pregnant!)

I only have two areas that I would recommend an improvement on to truly make the a 5 Star resort:
1. The Cleanliness of the Beach - while it may be hard to keep up with the debris that gets swept in by the ocean, there was really a lot of garbage on the beach. And at all times of the day - morning, afternoon and evening. The only time we saw someone picking up any of it was the day that a wedding was being held.
2. The Spa - we had booked a honeymoon package for our stay which included couples massages. I found out before we left that I was expecting so I let the lady at the spa know as soon as I arrived. She was incredibly rude to me and said that there was no way I could have any spa treatment done - no massages, no facials. Nothing. She was very abrupt and did not apologize/congratulate us or say anything that was polite. She continued to tell me that my husband would enjoy two massages since she would not allow me to be in the spa. I was very taken back by her attitude as well as her tone towards me.

Overall we are very glad that we chose the Amari Vogue for our stay in Thailand! Thank you Michael and Staff for letting us unwind and truly enjoy each other for a few days.

Room Tip: One Bedroom Villa Suites with Plunge Pool are amazing!

Dear HollyandRodolfo,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We are very pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay, the resort, its facilities and the remote location. Congratulation to make it to the top of Mount Naga and this even with the rainy weather.

We are happy to read that you enjoyed the Thai Food and please accept our apologise regarding the experience at the Bellini restaurant. We will certainly discuss this with the team.

Also thank you for reporting the issue at the Spa regarding the massage which we couldn't do because of your pregnancy. Of course we could have offered a facial or a foot massage as an alternative. Let me take this up with the Spa Team to make sure we improve in the reply to inquires like this.

Thanks again for taking the time to write this review. All best wishes to both of you and the Baby to come. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome all three of you back soon again.
