Amari Vogue Krabi
Ranked #4 of 12 Hotels in Nong Thale
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 19, 2011

I got married at The Amari Vogue, Krabi in August 2011 and would recommend this hotel for weddings, honeymoons, romantic holidays, and peaceful family breaks.

The amari management provided exceptional service from day one, and somehow they made planning my wedding seem easy. All e mails were responded to generally within 24 hours and last minute changes to the service were no problem at all. The wedding set up was all I could have dreamed of and the food was amazing. Little extras such as an elephant and fire dancers made it a day to remember.

From the minute my family, friends and I arrived at the Amari we received top quality service and a warm welcome. Rooms are traditional Thai style and maintained to a very hight standard. We stayed in the honeymoon suit and had a 4th floor room with jacuzzi on the balcony and a view of Hong Islands. You will not be disappointed.

The pool area is well maintained and the beach is very clean. Little extras provided free of charge such as free drinking water delivered to your sun lounger, and free ice creams and fruit delivered by the pool make this resort stand out from it's bigger competitors. Management are very visible in the resort and are not too busy to say hello. The personal touch in this hotel is outstanding.

There were 24 of us in the party, covering a wide variety of age ranges. Every single person ranked amari as one of the best hotels they have ever stayed in. Staff made every effort to accommodate the large group and were more than happy to join tables together in the restaurants and to provide extra chairs. Prices are very reasonable for a 5* resort and we enjoyed gorgeous meals and cocktails at both the Thai and Italian restaurants.

Overall this hotel deserves the highest score possible for the wedding of a lifetime, a dream hotel / location and very high customer service. I will be returning in the future for my wedding anniversary.

Thank you Chumpol and Michael.

We stayed at Amari with our children 7 and 10 for 3N/4D. The resort is beautiful and well kept but the property is not very big which has its positives and negatives. On the up side, the rooms are beautiful, the staff courteous, choice of pools , a clean quiet beach and free shuttle to Ao nang beach area. The downside is that it doesnot really cater to kids, any age...food is average and the free shuttle has limited seats so book early.
Also, the island tours being offered at the resort are way too expensive. You can try the Ao nang beach area, it has a number of options at one third the price and same quality.
Yes, I do recommend the property specially to couples looking for a romantic getaway.

This was the 1st time we have been to Krabi but we have travelled all over Asia. We booked the Amari Vogue purely based on the trip advisor reports and we are extremely glad we did. We were travelling with our 2 girls (5 & 3) and would normally stay in a larger resort to keep them occupied but this was a really nice change and the kids loved the hotel.

The airport pick up was perfect and as expected for a 5 star resort in Asia, clean van, cold towels & water and on time. Honestly for the cost it was the best way to the hotel. You are about 20 mins from Ao Nang beach where the restuarants and bars are, it's an easy taxi in and out (500 bhat). We did it twice over 6 nights, once to head in and watch the rugby and the other time for dinner (the hotel but had way better food but I am sure there some gems in town). The hotel is a little remote being out of town but so are the Sheraton & the Sofitel, however I think the Amari has the best beach and best location.

We booked the hotel during low season but there was a wedding on so the hotel was fully booked (it's only 57 rooms). I was worried about the amount of people but you barely noticed anyone other than the lovely function they had on the beach which included elephants (my kids loved it). Otherwise the hotel had a few families with young kids and there were honeymoon couples floating around.......once again the set up for the resort meant that no-one got in each others space so it was always a relaxed feeling. I never felt that my 2 kids were annoying anyone as this is normally a concern for us.

The hotel is perched on the hill side and runs all the way to the beach, we initially booked into the standard rooms which are great but up the top of the resort. This meant walking up and down the stairs if I want to go to the pool / beach during the day, not a major issue but we ended up moving to a Deluxe room which was positioned in the middle and ideal for us. We had 4 of us in the room (2 rollaways for the kids) and there was pleanty of space plus the bathrooms & balcony's are huge.

While the beach is not like sitting in the Maldives there is pleanty of space and the water is pretty nice, I think the Amari has by far the best beach in Krabi. We did take a long boat
from the hotel beach to Hong Bay which is 20mins away, it's a nice half day tour. Outside of that we did an elephant tour, neither here nor there about the tour but the kids seemed to have fun going through the bush on top of an elephant.

In short the staff are great, the spa was excellent (we went 2x each) the hotel is perfect for a real break from the hustle and bussle of life. It is a really nice change to Phuket but if you are looking for bars & parties then probably go to Phuket.

Happy travels - Amari for us was excellent and we will be back

We stayed at the Amari Vogue in July for 3 nights and we loved our short time there.

Upon our arrival we were welcomed with cool towels and drinks and then shown to our room.

We had a deluxe room and it was very spacious and tidy. The rooms had a nice touch of Thai art in them as well – more so on the wall behind the bed (or more like a bed head) which I l was very fond off. The bed was huge and so comfy! The bathroom was very nice and roomy and had a bay window with sliding doors looking out to the bedroom area and further more out the door to the views of the ocean.

The beach in front of the resort is beautiful. The sand and waters are clear and the water is so warm. We at some stages felt like we were the only ones on the beach, which was great! We were able to relax and take in the wonderful sunsets and views without any disturbances or noise, etc. that you can sometimes get when staying at other places.

The breakfast selection was pretty good - had the usual egg station where you put in your special orders for eggs. The area in which breakfast was served had a nice and relaxed atmosphere and not loud & annoying. All of the staff were very friendly and so helpful all throughout our stay. We ate dinner at the Lotus Restaurant one night and the food was delicious. Room service was also very good.

Each afternoon we would get delivered (I think during turn down service) to the room little desserts i.e. brownies, pastries, etc. which was nice to come back to - especially after a day out and about.

The pools were all very clean and you can admire views of the beach and sunsets from all three pools.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Amari Vogue and I recommend staying here, particularly if you’re looking for a nice place to relax and unwind, you will not be disappointed!

We went there with a family of 3 ours and my sisters, 3 more. Took a villa. Rooms were great. Very spacious, wooden, clean, polished and nice. Sitting in the balcony at night was great.
We took a long time in choosing this hotel and were extremely satisfied with our choice.
Swimming pool, terrace style, kids had a blast. Sea is just amazing and swimming even for those who do not know good skills, it's great.

Away from the hustle and bustle of city, shopping, hawkers and so on, this is a place to just lie down, read your ipad book or kindle (trying to be more and more green), sip chilled Singha and take the burden out of your shoulders, give yourself a pat at the back for doing all the hard work.

Room Tip: Sea facing villas, top floor is what I would recommend.

My wife and I stayed at the Vogue on our honeymoon in 2010. We wanted a few days in beautiful Krabi and some friends recommended trying out the vogue. Overall, I have to admit it's a fantastic hotel, but it lacks that certain x-factor that makes it special.

1. The property and the location: What makes the vogue property special are the pool and beach sections, to be honest. The pool is large enough while still retaining a fair amount of personality and character. There are sunken ledges within the pool that you can sit in, and Jacuzzi jets will gently massage your back and legs. Very nice. It's also a good size, you could do laps if you want.
Location-wise it's a little far from Ao Nang town (about 25 or 30 minutes by car) but that's more of a plus than a minus in my book. If you want a lot of action and buzz, the Vogue isnt for you. Its located away from the hustle and bustle of downmarket Ao Nang but you're not completely cut off either.

2. The rooms: Funnily enough, the rooms rank both in the pluses and the minuses. The pluses are they're a good size, and they're well done and well appointed if you like a more traditional and ornate design theme. My wife and I prefer a more modern contemporary minimalist (without compromising on the luxury) and the Vogue doesnt deliver along those lines. If you get a room on a higher floor, then your balcony (complete with a good-sized jacuzzi will overlook the pool and the beach.

3. The Beach. Ah, the beach. Without a doubt the best feature of the Vogue. Its pristine white sands and clear water make it one of the most gorgeous beaches we've ever seen. Because the Vogue is a fairly isolated hotel, the only people on the beach are guests of the hotel. The hotel has these fantastically unusual sunloungers that they put out on the beach (along with umbrellas) so we spent pretty much all day lounging, reading, and enjoying fantastic service from the bar. We swam out about 500 feet into the ocean, and the water was up to our shoulders and was crystal clear.

4. The Restaurant at the beach. Fantastic ambiance, great food. A little on the pricey side, but not unexpectedly so. They had a seafood barbecue one of the nights we were there where they were bb'ing some of the freshest and most exotic seafood we've seen in our lives, and serving it with a fantastic selection of wine. It's definitely a meal to remember, so find out if they're having one during your stay.

5. Amenities: The gym is well equipped, and the massages at the Six Senses Spa are an indulgence well worth paying for. Try to work it into your stay if you can.

6. The service: Typically Thai... very hospitable, always smiling, very eager to help.

1. I think the property could do with a refresh. The design's starting to look a little old and tired and could use a bit of a makeover.

2. Room design leaves a little to be desired. The Vogue is an expensive hotel and we had an expensive room, but we expected more from the interior design.

Overall, it's a great hotel and I'd recommend it.

Absolutely beautiful property. Staff are fantastic and very helpful. A few battle a bit with english, but we are in Thailand after all. They are undergoing lessons and it really wasn’t a hindrance at all - in fact it added to the charm for us.
The food at both restaurants is great. Everyone raves about the Italian restaurant on the beach front, but I would like to give the more formal restaurant at the top of the resort a huge plug! The food in the evening here was outstanding. Yes the view isn't as good, but why would I want to eat Italian food when I'm in Thailand? It’s just a personal preference, although Italian cuisine does seem very popular throughout the country.
We ate once by the beach and the pizza was delicious.
The rooms are beautiful with very efficient aircon. Nice big comfortable beds with ample room for your luggage. A huge bathroom, private balcony, fresh fruit, free water, nightly treats secretly delivered to your room....you get the idea? This place is good!
The resort has free wifi but the signal isn't strong across the whole resort.
We used the gym a couple of times and all the equipment is in good condition and modern.
Check in and out were seamless and quick.
Michael the manager is very visible and approachable. He was knowledgeable on the area and gave us some good ideas.
The weather wasnt the best while we were there but the beach is very quiet and quite private and I would imagine a great place to spend the day in the sunny season.
The resort is a little remote, but that was why I picked it. It is only 20 mins or so from Ao Nang so its not like you are completely deserted.
I could go on - but you need some suprises for yourself.
We thoroughly recommend this property for those who dont mind being away from, but close enough to, the hustle and bustle.
Romantic getaway...yes. Family holiday in the summer season....yes.
Amari Vogue you tick all the boxes!
